Grandeur - aft balcony, above nightclub

Recommended Posts

We have just booked a balcony cabin on Grandeur of the Seas, got one of the last available on deck 7 -7144, but this cabin seems to be directly above the South Pacific Lounge. Are we likely to be kept awake all night with noise?

There are no other cabins showing as available on this deck and we've also booked an inside cabin opposite, but if its going to be really noisy we may consider upgrading to a JS on deck 8.

Any one any experience with these aft cabins on Grandeur?

Thanks

I don't know about how loud it is in the cabin, but I can tell you that I had to leave the South Pacific lounge when Rip Tide was playing earlier this month. It was just too loud for me and I have some hearing loss. Take that for what it's worth to you, I've booked 7652 for next October. We're usually up until late in the Centrum, so I don't think the S. Pac is going to bother us. I had a 8th deck JS for my first cruise and had to deal with people dragging stuff across the ceiling, didn't bother me, but did wake my wife.

We had a 7th floor aft balcony JS on Grandeur. Yes, you could hear the nightclub at night, especially with your head on the pillow. I'm usually a light sleeper, it didn't bother me too much. Yes, I noticed, but it didn't go on all night long. It was usually done around midnight. It didn't keep my kids up at all. I think we were probably all so tired it didn't matter.

But I've had problems in other cabins too - we've had things dragged above our cabin at 6 am and that was worse than the music at night.

We had Cabin 7150 which was spacious with a great view. Unfortunately

we had severe noise, Bass, Vibration from the night club below. We were traveling with our 2yr old son who had to sleep in the Loyalty ambassador Lounge from 700 pm till 0100 am every evening, because ship was sold out.

We were compensated for our next cruise in a JS due to this problem. Cruise aws on 10-28-05 out of Baltimore !!!

Thanks for the info - our boys are teenagers, so they won't be going to sleep early and they often sleep in late, so we may be better of with the late night noise on deck 7, rather than the early morning noise and chair scraping above deck 8. I guess if the music calms down around midnight thats not so bad - I would be more concerned if it was loud music till 4 am.

We had 7156 on the Grandeur last month. Yeah, you could hear the South Pacific lounge, but it didn't keep me awake. I'm a pretty sound sleeper, though. Also, it wasn't open late every night.
