The Freedom looks great,,and most reviews rave about her...I'd like to know if you cruise experts feel because of the nature of the ship, and the amenities.. there may be an abundance of children,,even during the non holiday sailing dates?? I love kids..but.......:)

we just got off freedom sunday and there were hardly any kids on board. We had the same thoughts before going on it, we have grown kids and want a more adult atmosphere. The ship was full and not many kids were seen, you have to be sure they are all in school when you book it.

We were on the Oct 8th sailing and there were 465 kids onboard. I have to say though, with the areas that are designed just for them, we really never saw more than a dozen or so all week!

of these 465 kids, what do u mean by kids? little kids under 10? what about the age group of say 18-25? did you find many of those?

During one of the events, the staff announced how many kids were onboard. As I don't have any, that was the only statistic I was interested in, not specific ages. I am assuming that would include anyone under 18.

We were on the Oct. 22nd sailing of the Freedom too and we saw a ton of kids (of all ages). We even saw many babies. You have to remember that even though you think that kids should be in school here in the states, that doesn't mean that kids from other countries are in school as well. The Freedom cruise was the most international cruise we have ever been on. There were people from so many countries, and I do know there were many from England and the kids were on break at that time. We never had a problem with any of the kids and they certainly appeared to enjoy the H2O Zone! I think that was a great idea from RCCL! :D

Excellent information,,thank you,,Any RCI cruisers ever tried a Princess Cruise?

I've sailed on the Caribbean Princess three years in a row always on the second week of October. There were very few children aboard. I figured October was a little early in the school year for parents to take their kids out of school for a cruise . I've noticed that the best rates on most cruise lines also seem to be between Late September thru early December.

I was on Explorer of the Seas the first week of May. This was right after spring break was over and again there were very few children aboard.
