rjms74 Posted November 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2006 Dear Kathie, How was the weather & seas on your recent Canary Islands cruise on QE2? I ask as I am going on next year's Oct cruise. Kind Regards, RJMS74
Mayor Kathie Posted November 1, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted November 1, 2006 Hi rjms, The weather was quite rough crossing the bay towards Maderia. We are those lucky people who are very good sailors! It was hot there.Santa Cruz was warm,Lanzarote very warm and suprisingly beautiful,we had some negative reports before sailing. The visit to the caves and the artists home in the lava, whos name escapes me,where really good. The Sunday saw us at Las Palmas,Grand Canaria where some of the shops opened when they realised the fleet was in!! Good weather also.Malaga was warm but we had some rain.Gibraltar was hot and humid in between downpours!Lastly Lisbon were it rained heavily in the morning, but then the sun came out.A mixed bag but usually warm. The crossing home across the bay was as a millpond, although around the time we left Lisbon the winds returned and the seas rolled a bit.Hope this helps,a bit long winded but it is a nice cruise. Regards to all Kathie:) We're doing the 28 days on this trip but have never sailed at this time of year. I've checked various reliable sources and I'm told average temp in the Azores in Nov is 68. It's all south from there so we're hoping for at least mid 70s in Ft. L. Better than the UK whatever happens! Our ticket pack said 14 formal, 12 semi formal and 2 informal. Don't know how that's split up though. Enjoy!
Mayor Kathie Posted November 3, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted November 3, 2006 Thanks for that,I know that we should have the infomation about formal evenings etc.but at this late stage I am wondering if anything will arrive before we leave!I have looked at the baggage restrictions in the Cunard brochure and it seems quite generous on B.A.We can only hope!
