sk8teacher Posted November 1, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2006 When we were on the Volendam 2 years ago we had robes in an oceanview, so I assume every cabin has them now. Cheers,
missygirl Posted November 1, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 1, 2006 Hello Bases...we will be all together soon on the Zuiderdam...10 more days. As far as the robes I do know that they are in the oceanview rooms as well as the suites but not sure about inside cabins but they probably have them also. HAL pampers their passengers and I would think that everyone has them in their cabin. Missygirl:)
mister exec Posted November 1, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 1, 2006 Every room can get robes on request. Even in our inside rooms they usually have them without asking, but if not it's just a request away.
boards Posted November 1, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 1, 2006 We had robes in our inside cabin on the main deck on Veendam last Nov. 2005. They were not in the room and had to ask for them. The cabin steward brought them and was very apologetic (sp).
Old As Dirt Mom Posted November 2, 2006 #6 Share Posted November 2, 2006 We were wondering if Hal provides robes for all there guest or just the suites. HAL provides bathrobes for guests in ALL categories. Here's a list of amenities available in every stateroom.:)
LemonZest Posted November 2, 2006 #7 Share Posted November 2, 2006 Robes are provided in every cabin. We tyically book the least expensive inside cabin and have always but once found a robe on arrival. If you are (as we are) uncomfortable with the concept of using a robe that has been previously worn by others (yes I know they are laundered, BUT I still have no wish to use it nor have it taking up space), you can take it up to the Purser's Desk and have them note on your account that you've requested the robe be removed from your room. In this way it will not be charged to your account. Once we were fortunate enough to find no robe in the room on arrival. We were *absolutely impressed* with the idea that HAL had remembered our preference for the robe to be removed from the room....until our steward showed up with robes and profuse apologies later that evening...it seems the previous occupant of the room had not wanted the robe either, and he'd not gotten around to replacing it. Some really like the robes and even purchase them for home use, but I prefer a silk robe and prefer to use the hanging area for garments of my own. She bought a robe to take home on our first HAL cruise, on the Veendam a year and a half ago. Since then, she's lost 80 pounds and is on her way to lose a lot more. Now there's room for two of her in the robe. I'll probably have to spring for another $50 on our Zuiderdam cruise, next April. Paul Noble
