RAFWriter Posted November 3, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2006 We've traveled on Disney three times--twice on the Magic, and once on the Wonder. All 3 times we had a balcony cabin (category 6 or 7). Now we're considering taking Disney up on one of their excellent Florida resident offers and to save money, we're looking into a category 9 cabin on deck 2. Can anyone offer any advice on these cabins? Are they as spacious as the balcony staterooms? (It will be me, my husband and our 11-year old in the room.) Also, do you feel any ship movement or hear any noise from deck 3 above? Thanks!
mom x4,grandma x4 Posted November 3, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 3, 2006 Howdy, we have stayed on deck 2 and also had the rooms with a verandah o upper decks. I liked the rooms on deck 2. we still had the split bathroom , a large port hole window for viewing, and I know it was 214 sq. feet. I'm not sure the square footage on the other ooms you had, but it has to be really close to the same . I'm not sure if it had the trunk at the foot of the bed to put clothes in or not, but we had plenty of room for everything. Just the 2 of us. Our room was very quiet and not much foot traffic there because the only people there had rooms there. No clubs or restaurants near by to have extra foot traffic. It was very easy to get on and off the ship too. I do know some rooms on deck 2 are noisy rooms with engine noise, so I would ask if it is classified as a noisy room or not when booking. Some are not too bad, just a low humming noise or no noise until you are docking. If you get a room number, post it here and I will try to do a room search for you to see if it is a noisy room and if anyone has ever posted a notice about it. There are sites that have that information. Our daughter had one on deck 2 that was the low humming noise, but it didnt bother them at all. we just got florida rates in may, august and later this month on cruises. AWESOME isnt it!!! mom x4,grandma x4
mom x4,grandma x4 Posted November 3, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 3, 2006 Oh I forgot, deck two has the least movement of any deck, especially if you are mid ship!! Forward on any deck has more movement. mom x4,grandma x4
RAFWriter Posted November 3, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted November 3, 2006 Hi. Thanks for the fast reply. Our rooms are 2058 and 2060. Thanks!
tina4_98 Posted November 3, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 3, 2006 i just looked up 2058 for you and this is what the review said : NOTES: This stateroom was very close to the midship elevators and was an excellent location. No noise problems whatsoever. It was also on the same side and relatively close to the laundry room on deck 2. Everything was in good shape and no visible wear. As an added bonus, our stateroom host was wonderful!!! and for 2060 this is the review but this was back in AUGUST of 2005: Notes: The room was good but the shower was broken and once we went to turn it on- water went everywhere including on us!! Also, the pressure of the shower was off and their was no hot water. We had to move rooms in the middle of the night because of this
RAFWriter Posted November 3, 2006 Author #6 Share Posted November 3, 2006 Thanks. I saw that note too about 2060, but apparently they fixed the problem because reviews after that date were fine.
