Back from 10/28 wedding on Carnival Inspiration

Hi everyone. I am back from my wedding with reception that was on the Carnival Inspiration. It was great! (for the most part). They have you do a practice ceremony and they quickly and I mean quickly go through the practice ceremony with you. I thought I would have time to talk to my 75 guests (yes really 75) prior to the ceremony but I really didn't. They have you get in a room then another room then all gueste have to have an ID made if they are non cruising and next thing you know they get you on the ship in the lounge where your ceremony will be. They tell your guests when to be back and then they do the practice ceremony. Stan and Lois our wedding people were great! They walk you through everything. The one thing I wasnt happy with and this is minor is that that my mom and aunt wanted to put out the favors, guest book, and card box but unfortunately they couldnt do it right away and then the card box and guest book didn't get put out. I really wanted it at the front of the room and then it ended up out near the DJ when I put it there! The food (that I didn't get to eat, too busy ) was great per my guests. The cake was ok, I didn't care for the wax like icing. The rooms for the ceremony and reception were nice, the service was great. The only thing you will need to do if you are having any traditional things like dances, bouquet toss etc. is that you have to tell the DJ what to do, the wedding experience people DO NOT take care of this for you so watch the time or you may not end up doing everything you wanted. If anyone has any questions please feel free to email me at laurier2@earthlink.net. :)

Congratulation!

Were your wedding people helpful? We are planning to have a simple wedding on Carnival Freedom (April 07). We booked the cruise first, then decided to get married at the same time. We only want to have a small wedding (no more than 10 people). Our parents have already booked the cruise too and we don't plan to invite other relatives. How should I get started? Any tips when talking to Carnival?

HI. If you havnen't booked your wedding yet book right away. Not all cruises have all the wedding available when you call, I had to play that game with getting the time I wanted for the cruise with the wedding package I wanted. I went through several weeks of dates before I was able to get the wedding package and ship I wanted. Carnival will send you a packet of information with what your options are, read them. I brought my own silk roses for my maid of honr, parents, wedding party etc because carnival wanted like $75 for a bouquet for my maid of honor. Also, haggle for the pcitures. THey will work with you on the price. If they tell you they will only give you the CD of the pcis youi actually buy don't believe them, they are allowed to and will sell you the disc of all your pics. Good luck!

We booked our cruise and then decided to get married on the cruise...

Thing is not as simple as we thought. We received confirmation again (we asked several times already!) from Carnival that they don't provide wedding service on the cruise we booked.

Well, we are planning to have a destination wedding as an alternative. Hope this is not going to cost more than I expected :)
