Dolphin plus Tulum possible?

We will be in Cozumel on the Star Princess in February and have already booked the Dolphin excursion from 12-1:00 at the Chankanaab National Park.

We planned on touring the park in the morning - welcome feedback on things to do or see there.

We also were wondering if there would be time to get to Tulum in the afternoon. Our ship sails at 6 pm. If timing would allow - perhaps with a private driver? Has anyone hired a driver for the excrusion to Tulum?

Thanks for your insight.

Hi,

On our first trip to Cozumel we took a trip to Tulum, if my memory serves me correctly there was a 45 minute ferry ride and then a coach journey of approximately an hour or so to get to Tulum.

I might be slightly out on timings, it was 5 years ago, but I would say 'no chance'.

On our second visit we took a taxi to Chankanaab and took a pre-booked 'Royal swim' with the dolphins. IMHO this was a far more memorable experience than the Tulum trip.

Enjoy your Dolphin trip and if you're visiting Costa Maya on the same cruise I suggest you visit Chachoben - we preferred it to Tulum.
