We need to rent a car when we get off the Ship in Port Canaveral, and want to return it to the Orlando airport a few days later. I tried Hot Wire and they only want you to pick up and drop at airport. Who should I go through or call for my car rental in Jan. Help!!! Thanks Lynn

Thrifty is also at the pier they will shuttle you to the car and bring you to the airportin orlando.

Try to stay away from Avis I had a reservation with them in Oct when I we got off the boat at the pier they were no where to be found the thrifty bus driver stopped and asked us who we were waiting for. He told us Avis ran out of cars and thrifty was covering all their reservations at the price we booked Avis with our contract. Don't understand how they could not have cars when I had a reservation for 2 months in advance. and not even an agent at the pier to direct us.

We used Budget. We rented a car at the airport and drove to Port Canaveral for a pre cruise stay. On cruise day we drove to Budget and dropped off the car and took their shuttle to the port. On our return we were picked up by their shuttle and taken back to Budget to rent a car that we dropped off at the airport. Easy process and I would do it again.

Avis, Budget, Hertz & Thrifty all have rental offices in Cocoa Beach (all within 2 miles of each other) and all will allow you to return the car to the airport.

I rented from Avis. Avis (and others) offers a free shuttle from the cruise dock to the rental location. When you get to the airport, drive away from the airport for about one mile to fill up with gas, then return the car to the airport with a full tank.
