benfish Posted November 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2006 :) I have been reading all of the threads and I think this might rank as on of the most bizare questions posted, so here goes: Fact We are on the 1/29 Ultimate Carribean and am planning a special day and evening for my wifes special birthday. I am planning on going to Ocean Liners one evening as well as some other special events on ship We really like the performances in the main showroom and just about see them all Knowing all this, here is the question of people that have been on this trip previously 1 The day we are scheduled to leave Aruba (8 pm) is there anything usally done that evening as far as shows go? 2. Do they have early shows before the second seating for dinner? 3. Which are the formal nights on the 11 day? I did call the Captains Club and they did not have the schedule and the new trip for the season does not start until the end of November (which is 60 days from the time we leave) and I would like to make all of the arrangements as early as I can because from what I was told the ship is full for our cruise. As I said, this is off the wall but thought if anyone can shed some light, it would be great.
ecslady Posted November 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2006 You will have a mix of early and late shows. Early shows are apx. 7 pm before late dinner and are most often on casual & informal nights. Late shows are on formal nights and they start apx. 10:30 pm. Just got off the Zenith, which stopped at Aruba and will left in the early evening also. It was a casual night witha 7 pm show before dinner. Formal nights are usually on sea days - the first sea day, sea day in the middle, and the last sea day (unless that happens to be the last night of the cruise which is always casual). We chose an informal night to go to ocean liners. I looked at your itinerary and see that Jan 31 you are in port till 4 pm. That will most likely be an informal evening and a good choice for Ocean Liners. You can reserve Ocean Liners by calling Captains Club in advance of the cruise - just not sure how many days in advance they allow. Hope the info helps! Enjoy! osiebosie Posted November 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2006 The only info I have for you is this: at Ocean Liners, which we ate at twice, the dinner will take at least three hours. We missed the Cirque show due to this. Just poor planning on our part. Both times we ate there we started at 6:00 or 6:30, as early as possible for us. We were amazed at the amount of people that came in after 8:00 to begin a three-hour dinner. I guess they were used to eating late. I thought it was very good, in fact all of us did. Well worth the money. Enjoy your meal. Be sure to go online and register the birthday. The goat cheese souffle... mmm mmm good! Shay
