Sunset in Cozumel

Recommended Posts

We just found out we'll be staying in Cozumel until 10 p.m.

I've read that the sunsets in Cozumel are gorgeous.....so where do you all suggest we enjoy it? Is there a spot that just beats all others and will blow us away?

Thanks!

Very panoramic view at the all new MEZCALITO'S WEST located about one mile from the southern edge of the community. The atmosphere is very "tropical island" and is hosted by Alex and Samantha, a couple of ex-crew from cruise ships, so they know how to serve their guest. Tropical drinks every bit as colorful as the sunset you've waited to experience.

Gumballz: I was just about to post this very question...............THANKS!!!

Island Jim: Can you tell me more about Mezcalito West? Is this someplace that we could spend the day. We were thinking of hanging out at Pacific Beach for the day. Or would we just go to Mezcalito just for the sunset. Do you know how far one is from the other or how far from the pier???? Thanks

No, Mezcalito's West is not the place to spend a day and has no beach. It is across the street from the water, but there are no beaches to speak of in that area. It is between the Punta Langosta and International Cruise terminals. Good place for a cold snack or salad and refreshing drinks. It has, as I mentioned, a panoramic view, unobstructed for a very pleasant sunset experience.

That's absolutely correct. Depending on your level of energy, both piers are within about 15 minutes walking north or south on the seawall. You might enjoy that stroll also.

Thanks a stroll sounds kind of nice! Although after drinking Margarittas all day we may have to get a taxi :)

Would the sunset be good for PB, Is that on the western side of the Island. Sorry I am directionally challenged ;)

Is that a safe walk at night for two females? Also, are taxi's readily available at Mezcalito?

Thanks for all your help! You too Ken! :)

Taxis are very available. That is the most taxi cruised boulevard on the island. The sunset should be very good at PB also.

Hi Jim! We appreciate all of your helpful info here! I have a question for ya--I will be spending a week in Cozumel at the Caribe Blue Hotel in March. Is that a great place to watch the sunsets too? Also, the hotel info sort of makes it sound like it is close enough to walk to town but I've heard different info on that--do you know if it's close enough to walk and if it's okay for two ladies to walk that area? Thanks!

Interesting you mention that hotel. A long time friend of Wahoo Tours posted on our bulletin board forum today asking what the hotel was like now. I offered to stop and check it out for him.

The hotel is very close to Mezcalito's West. You can walk to town from there, it's only about half a mile or so. And, yes, you'll have an extraordinary view of the sunset every day from that little hotel property.

From Caribe Blu to town is at least a mile and a half, possibly two miles. It's a beautiful walk this time of year as long as the sun isn't beating down on you. Otherwise, take a taxi, or just hop in a cab along the way, when you decide you've had enough of a walk.

Enjoy!

Sally is probably more correct about the distance. I am not a person to take strolls and always am driving (or riding) when we go by that hotel so I only guessed.

The address is Carretera Sur, Km. 2.2

Assuming the kilometers are correct, multiply it times .62 and it converts to about 1.3 miles. Much further than I would want to walk but a short distance for those who enjoy that sort of thing.
