starfamily Posted November 8, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2006 I am SO confused. First we booked 1201 as it was the largest AE, then I saw we could get an aft and switched us to 0067, we were warned by two people about the soot and noise in that cabin/balcony and I just switched us back to 1201. Someone tell me that is the best choice?(and no I already checked no AF's were available or AC's so the only aft is the AE's with the noise/soot problem)
electricron Posted November 8, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2006 Both are great cabins. 1201 faces forward, 0067 faces aft. 0067 will have more wind when the ship is underway, 1201 will have more noise and soot from the funnels throughout the cruise. There should be little wind in either location when the ship is in port. It's a toss up in my opinion. Pick one cabin and be happy. You're making mountains out of molehills. Oakview Posted November 9, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 9, 2006 We were on the Sun for a 10 day cruise Dec 29. This was a cruise scheduled to sail out of N.o., our home, but due to Katrina moved to Houston. We were in Cabin 1001 forward and loved it except for one night of high seas when it sounded as though canons were being fired. The balcony was wonderful and was a great vantage point to see the rescue of two Cuban men adrift between Cuba and the Keys. I was on the balcony often while under way. The only time I couldn't go out was during that night of the rough seas, Of course, I'm a March baby and love the wind. We're on the PoH in March and it appears the bathroom and closet can't compare to the mini on the Sun, big walk-in clost and large, deep soaking tub ....beautiful. Bottom line, forward or aft, both will be fine. This time we're trying the aft mini just to experience another type cabin.
