JotWorld Posted November 9, 2006 Author #3 Share Posted November 9, 2006 That's a healthy increase. I wonder why? Probably "Supply & Demand'.(IMHO);) It is 78% sold out according to the FCC onboard the Coral, & they released some, probably from a TA's inventory, I suspect, FCC, also agreed!;) It's a Great Intiniery, No Segs, & the First Princess FULL World Cruise ever, & a very Small (Pacific - 670 PAXs) Ship!;) Anyone else care to comment?:) Bill
mkk Posted November 9, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 9, 2006 Aren't you glad you booked when you did?! I watch cruise prices constantly and it is amazing how they fluctuate. DH got a great deal on our OV for 11/12..(about 5 weeks ago)..I checked the prices later the same day that he booked and they were $300 more pp! I just wish we could have had a balcony but...all sold out ...we were waitlisted but no luck so far..doesn't look good.

JotWorld Posted November 10, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted November 10, 2006 What is an Agent recall? As noted in my above post, a release of TA's "Advanced Reservations" (Inventory, from an CPA's point of view).:D Sort of like, Princess would say to the TA's holding Cabins on the World Cruise: "if you haven't sold them by now, or they are not on a option, release them back to us" so we can sell then (as they are going fast & we are raising the price);) Bill
dobie Posted November 10, 2006 #9 Share Posted November 10, 2006 Bill, I miss your Coral thread! I can't see that you did anything wrong...makes no sense to me....I want to keep sailing vicariously thru you. You asked what cabin we were in when we had Roderick...it was C603. On the Island we had E625, which is close to where you are this week, I think...we really enjoyed that cabin!
Jacqueline Posted November 10, 2006 #10 Share Posted November 10, 2006 For special limited addition cruises that are not commodities (ie 7 night Caribbean) prices are more likely to go up than down. A few years ago I wanted to do the Baltic and for some reason there were only 2 ships doing that itinerary - prices went up by what would have been thousands of dollars for our three cabins. james j feller Posted November 10, 2006 #11 Share Posted November 10, 2006 The world cruise sounds great , but 102 days on that ship would be a little boring. We cruised on the PACIFIC PRINCESS for 21 days and saying that, i wouldn't want to do any more days than that. Now don't get me wrong, i thought the ship was very nice ,the food great, the help wonderful but i just don't think there is enough to do for 102 days. PRINCESS should have picked a bigger ship, but then again the smaller ship can get into some ports then the big ones can't and as far as tendering the small ones are a lot easier. Would i do the cruise,NO, i would do HAL or CUNARD. JIM

(IMHO);) Also HAL & CUNARD, do it in Segs,(Many Parts, People coming, People going) Not a True World Cruise for Everyone onboard! I wouldn't like that. Plus the 42 Ports can't be beat, by any of the others, I've been told by many others. To each there own!;) Thank you for your comments! My Best! JotWorld Posted November 10, 2006 Author #16 Share Posted November 10, 2006 Dumb question, but what does "OS" stand for? Hi PhillyGator, There are No Dumb questions!;) OS stands for Owner's Suite, there are 6(2 on each Deck 6,7 & 8) on the Aft & 4(2 on Deck 6 & 7) in the Front on the Pacific & Tahitian.:) Thanks for your ?! Jacqueline Posted November 10, 2006 #19 Share Posted November 10, 2006 Which suite do you have ? We had one in Tahiti years ago on the TP. Get some tips on the closets. They are huge, but not well designed.. For a cruise that long I would want to customize my space. Its definitely a comfy place to call home for three months ! TCF Posted November 10, 2006 #20 Share Posted November 10, 2006 Aside from that kind of cost being way out of our league...I don't know that we could do 102 days on a cruise. We've been debating 19 day reposition on the Coral from FLL to Vancouver. We're not sure that isn't a little long for us.:D But if, as you say, you are only interested in the experience and joy of the cruise, 102 days will be like a dream come true! Hope you have a great time...and of course find time to let us know what a good time you are having.:D Tom and Deb:)
10X Posted November 10, 2006 #21 Share Posted November 10, 2006 While not a 102 day cruise, we recently booked a 31 night cruise onboard the Sun Princess, Sydney to San Francisco, leaving 4/7/08. We booked 19 months in advance. We received a flyer from Princess that had some great prices, about $4900pp with the same price applying to any balcony cabin. I was amazed at the price and called the travel agent. She gave me a price of about $4200pp and I couldn't pass it up. I booked immediately. Now, remembering that we are 19 months in advance of this cruise, I was amazed when the travel agent said she had only 3 balcony cabins left in her inventory. She was already almost sold out of her available lot of cabins. Some friends booked with us and we took her last 3 balcony cabins. I was curious about her having only three balcony cabins available so far in advance of the cruise, so about a week later I went to the Princess website to check on this cruise further. At that time, all suites, mini-suites, and balcony cabins were now waitlisted. In addition, most of the outside cabins were also waitlisted. This cruise was almost sold out 19 months in advance. I checked the prices and balcony cabins were now listed at $5400+pp. So I guess the supply/demand issue definately causes prices to go up. hillslife Posted November 10, 2006 #22 Share Posted November 10, 2006 If this cruise sells out, it gives me hope that there will be one in 2009. Anyone heard anything about that yet??? I would love to do a 102 day cruise and also like the option of not taking on new passengers in segs....this is a dream cruise and I can't wait to hear your experiences.... Tony Ok, after your note above, I got back with the FCC, this AM, & pulled together some Real #'s, there are 150 Cabins avail, in on state or another, (in Princess's hands or TAs' hands). 185 Sold with Paid $4,000.00 Deposits or more if more than 2 in a Cabin. Also another $4,000.00 Deposit will be Due in June 07, I'm told, this is typical of All the WC's. So 335/185 = 55.22%, (Not 78% & Not 45%, but you were closer) He was counting the TA Holds I guess! They Expect to be sold out By Early Spring at the Latest! My Best! Bill LIVE ON THE CORAL
