What you liked best about Voyager of the Seas?

We are leaving in a little over a month for our 7 day Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Voyager of the Seas. My question is what did you like best about the ship? What is your favorite memory, activity, lounge, meal, show, etc....?

Thanks for the feedback.

I haven't been on Voyager but I have been on Explorer and Mariner and in a few months I will be able to add Advernture to the list. It is really impossible to answer your question because there is no one thing that I liked best. A Voyager class ship is a "total" experience. I can tell you this. After planning for months for our cruise aboard Explorer I remember my first steps onto the Royal Promenade and saying to everyone...."Wow, we're finally here. This is our home for the next week." It was so thrilling to walk onto something that I had previously looked at so many pictures of. And it was more than I ever anticipated it would be.

I could write here forever and you will still not understand how I really feel about Explorer and here sisters. Just enjoy the anticipation. You have an amazing week coming up ahead of you. And it will go by way too quickly. Voyager class ships are plain and simply.... magnificant.

I would have to agree with one of the above posts, Promenade with all of the shops, activities, people, etc. The Voyager (Eagle class) ships were the first of the this new generation of ships which implemented this style. It was really a new innovation to cruising. Freedom class IMHO stretched the Voyager ships and, of course, new changes here and there.

trying to describe Voyager or Ultra Voyager classes to anyone does it no justice. You have to experience them to truly appreciate the hard work of Aker Finnyard & everyone who had a hand into designing her.

We've been on both Explorer and Voyager....there's not much NOT to like! Our favorate places were the pool deck on sea days (sun, swimming, foo-foo drinks, live steel band music, wonderful "cruisey" atmosphere) and the promenade after the shows (don't miss any of them...not notch entertainment). The pub along the promenade is a great place to people watch, see the parades, enjoy a few drinks and music, etc. Do go to the captain's reception (elegant and free drinks), the parades, the midnight buffets, and the Quest game (hilarious funny). In short, fully immerse yourselves in ship board life and you'll find that you could have spent weeks and still not gotten a chance to experience all these ships have to offer. You'll become fast addicts and want to book another cruise before you get off the ship.:D

We sailed on Voyager in 2005. What a great ship! There is tons to do, or not do, whichever you choose. She is BIG.

MACOP, I think you forgot the Queen Mary II :) She kind of filled in between Voyager class and Freedom.

MACOP couldnt be wrong could she?? LMAO

Thank you for starting this thread! I hope to be on the Voyager in March. I was on Adventure last year (my first cruise) and I loved the ship! It was great to have a choice of the different bars at night. During the day I loved returning to the ship from a day at port and relaxing in the pool area. I can't wait for another cruise!:D

DH and I are still newbies, only 1 Celebrity (Galaxy) and 2 RCCL (Rhapsody) with Rhapsody scheduled again. We live only about 45 minutes from Galveston so have only sailed from there.

We are planning on scheduling the Voyager on our next sailing since she will be in Galveston a short time. Looks like that may be our last RCCL cruise from Galveston:confused: . Please, please RCCL don't do that to me:( .

Looking forward to a different experience on Voyager. Since we don't have airfare and usually have an inside cabin the cost to cruise is minimal and we don't even count it as a "vacation expense". Haven't cruised Carnival but might have to consider.

From what I've read about the Voyager we won't be disappointed. Keep sharing your stories.

Going to make one comment on crusing, nothing stays the same, for better or worse. As you can see from my cruise history, been on many RCCL ships, which some have been sold and others changed their sailings.

If you plan on taking cruises for many years, ships are going to get bigger period. I took the Rhapsody to Hawaii in her early years. LOVED the ship. Love the Monarch, Majesty and Soverign when they were doing the 7 day carribean. Then came the Vision series, now they're doing other ports. Now the Voyager class (Eagle class). Now the Ultra-Voyager and Genesis next. I use to listen to the older folks years ago about cruising and how the ships are getting too big, was sailing the original ships on the Song of Norway etc. and SWORE I would not do the same thing. Now, if I'm not careful, fuss about the newer and bigger ships.

Cruising will continue to evolve and nothing stays the same. So either adapt, offer my comments, or not cruise.

SO........ with that lecture and sounding like my parents, I do miss the Rhapsody which I feel is what a cruise ship is like and the Voyager is like a floating hotel (which is not bad), cruising is evolving and there are still different style ships you can sail on. BUT, as I see it, the bigger ships will keep on sailing the eastern, western and southern 7 day for profits. The older ships will be rotated to the other ports such as Gavelston, Baltimore, New Orleans, Tampa, etc. and the smaller ships to ports in the smaller markets to test the water (no pun intended).

Small comment. I went on the Radiance several years back which is the 1st time I have ever gone back to a smaller (?) ship from Voyager and wondered how I would like it. It was fantastic, not better, but different. Felt like the old days of being on a ship, not a hotel. Again, not better, just different. There's times I love the Voyager better. Must be a MOOD thing. But I do enjoy the changes in the cruise industry. Would be boring to be on the same type ship time after time.

Voyager was our first, so everything seemed perfect. (except for the slow doors on deck 10 :) Our cabin was great, great attendant, great waitor in the dining room. We had a great 25th anniversary on her.

We are looking forward to returning to Voyager in less than 48 hours!!

We first sailed on her in March 2000 in the Caribbean and had a wonderful time. Loved the iceshow, the promenade, the 24hour cafe ("could I have a slice of pepperoni pizza please?" was my mantra ) , our aft balcony cabin , I could go on.

On this cruise we are in an inside cabin and crossing the Atlantic , the weather may not be as good but we can't wait to get back on board, and new bedding to enjoy!!!;) :D
