passport newbie

Recommended Posts

First thing to do is find a good color copier and make photo copies of your passports. Keep those in a seperate place from your passports. Whether you take you passports with you will depend upon your cruise. our TA also advised to get a passport snapshot taken and just tuck it into your travel wallet. If you lose your passport or it's stolen, that will speed up the replacement.

Remember to safeguard your passport as you would any of your valuables. If you leave it in the cabin, keep it in the safe. If you carry it, make sure it's in a secure area, not in your back pocket or hanging out of a purse.

Have a safe and enjoyable cruise.

You will receive pros and cons on both sides of the debate. Check out the following link for an extensive discussion on whether to carry one's passport onshore.

Bottom line: it's a personal decision, one that you will have to make for yourself based on your own tolerance for the different risks involved with whether you carry your real passport or not.
