Lulie Posted November 16, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 16, 2006 I know that irons are not allowed in the cabins. Is there an area where they have irons to use? Is a steamer my only option? Do a lot of the passengers have wrinkled clothes????? So many questions as the cruise gets closer...only one more day!!

On formal nights the demand is usually quite high for them so if you need to iron try doing it in the morning or the night before.
caribbean dreams Posted November 16, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2006 Also, if you unpack your clothes right away, spray them with a little wrinkle release and hang them up, you should not have much of a wrinkle problem. There is also pressing available.

I was told before my cruise that if you "roll" your clothes they will come out less wrinkled..wrong! lol I'm kind of an ironing fanatic and what I did was, on the first sea day, I took everything that needed to be ironed and ironed all at once. I agree with Yst..on the day of the Formal Nights, there was a looong line out the door of the laundry room and people were getting very upset! Guest CRUZIN' SUZIN Posted November 16, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 16, 2006 I iron my clothes b4 I pack them and then pack as carefully as possible. Once I get to the ship, I hang up my clothes and hope for the best. I am on vacation, I will not: cook, clean, iron or worry.;) Formal nite: I tend to choose soft materials that do not wrinkle or whose wrinkles will fall out when hung up for a day or so. As far as wrinkled clothing on other people, no -- can't say I ever noticed anyone looking especially wrinked? It is a cruise, it is probably hot, people are happy -- no one will notice your wrinkles. Spend your time doing something more fun than ironing or waiting on line for an iron. :D There is a foo-foo drink and a slot machine awaiting your attention.:p
Cotton Posted November 16, 2006 #6 Share Posted November 16, 2006 Passenger laundry rooms are available on every Carnival ship. Some have them on each deck, and some even have two on each deck. I've noticed a few wrinkles here and there, but for the most part, I don't really look at clothing - just happy faces. I really don't think that many people focus in on how neat someone's clothing is; just on how much we're having!;)
cruisinjerseygirl Posted November 16, 2006 #7 Share Posted November 16, 2006 Good thing you asked because we didn't and they told us they would press our clothing for us and it ended up costing us about $56 for all of our wrinkled stuff to get done which sucked! Totally go do it yourself

alliecatn1 Posted November 16, 2006 #9 Share Posted November 16, 2006 I also hang my stuff up in the bathroom while I shower (or with the hot water on while I unpack everything else the first night) without the fan on. After a few minutes, you can smooth most of the wrinkles out. If there is anything that has more wrinkles, you can always go iron them, but it's nice to get the majority of you stuff wrinkle-free all at once. BTW... I have heard good things about Downy Wrinkle Reducer, I bought a travel size bottle and am going to try it out (three weeks :) ) Couldn't hurt to pick some up for your trip! ENJOY! Cotton Posted November 17, 2006 #11 Share Posted November 17, 2006 Downy Wrinkle Release works really well. I just spray a little bit on, lay the article on a bed, and smooth out the wrinkles. I also use it at home - a lot. Don't even know where my iron is these days!:D
hstrybuf Posted November 17, 2006 #12 Share Posted November 17, 2006 It's rare anymore that I even buy anything that requires ironing. Careful packing will help considerably in reducing the wrinkle factor. My hanging clothes are left on the hangers and covered with dry cleaner bags then folded into the suitcase. Things like shorts, tees and underwear are folded and put into 2 gallon zip lock bags. I take the Downey Wrinkle Release as an added measure should anything require a quick spritz.
