Grand vs CCL Conquest

We sailed both this year. Both are very nice ships. The Grand we feel was laid out better. The difference between Carnival and Princess is really the difference. Princess is much more classier. Not to say that Carnival is bad because we have 7 Carnival cruises under our belt. I guess we are getting more laid back. Princess is very FUN but it just seems classier. The Conquest is hard to navigate. Only a few floors that go from aft to bow. The Grand decore is very nice. Although the Conquest was better than other ships we have been on. Any other specific questions feel free to ask.

I was on Grand Dec. of last year and Conquest Jan. of this year. after being on the Grand I felt like the Conquest just wasnt well Grand:rolleyes: Now don't get me wrong Conquest is a beautiful ship, but I felt like princess had alot more to offer. I like the fact that you have alot of optionts for the evening entertainment, and dining. I use to think Carnival had the best food but now I think princess does I also like the fact that on princess you really can find acess to good food 24/7 on Conquest if you eat at unusal times you had a hard time finding good food. They are two completly different ships. But in my opinon Grand is the one. I will be leaving on the Grand again in 13 days cant wait

I'd definitely say the Grand was laid out better. To go the length of the ship on the Conquest on decks 3 or 4, you had to go to 5, then go down. I like the bigger pools on the Grand (and the fresh water), but I hardly used them because they were always so cold (Dec and April cruises). I did the Conquest in October, and the pools were perfect.

Loved both ships, though, and would do either again. The "atmosphere" on the Grand is a bit more laid back and relaxed, while the Conquest was a little more "hyper", I guess you could say, but that appears to just be the overall Princess v. Carnival difference. We did just as much partying on the Grand in December as I did on the Conquest, but my April trip was a complete 180 - very relaxing and a bit of a slower pace. Just as much fun, but a different kind. :)

Sad to see the Grand leave Galveston, but hopefully a new ship will come this way in the future so I can try something new.

The biggest difference that people comment on is the energy level. Carnival really is the home of the "fun ship".

Princess has a different onboard ambiance, a lot to offer a lot ot do, but not the same in ways that some people like (ie dining room rituals are still on CCL but not on Princess).

Thanks everyone for the info. We have been on the Grand twice and loved it and are now trying to decide if we should take a "deal" on the Conquest or enjoy one final trip on the Grand while still in Galveston.
