Crown electricity question

Recommended Posts

I noticed on a few post that the cabins do not have a plug for a hairdryer, curling iron, min fan, sound machine etc. Is this true? I also read in a review that there is a shaver plug in the bathroom. Can you use some type of adapter/plug to make this work for a hairdryer?

Sounds silly but this will really be an inconvience.

I believe you'll find at least one 110 volt ac receptacle in your cabin, and another in your bathroom, on every cabin on the Crown.

The physical plug for an hairdryer and shaver are usually the same (grounding plug is the exception). In any event, it is not an adapter issue, but amount of voltage/wattage available from that plug. So, nope.

Now I'm really lost. I know what a plug with a ground looks like but on past ships, such as carnival, they have a plug on the light fixture in the bathroom that looks like this: (minus the dots-it kept reconfiguring it). It must be some sort of European plug.

I don't know what set up that is for, obviously we would need some type of converter to be able to use this with US appliances.
