Just off Millenium 11/10-11/24 Med Cruise!

I just got off the 11/10 sailing of Millenium and am currently sitting in my post cruise hotel in Barcelona and wanted to give a quick report on the cruise.

The cruise was excellent! I will do a full review once I am home and settled in.

In short:

The Ship....

Millenium is in fantastic shape, and the food and service was great. I have to rate the whole experience as one of my top cruises! Our stateroom was in fantastic condition, as was the rest of the ship. I believe that the food was absolutely fantastic! I was very happy that Celebrity has put escargot on the menu that is available every day, too! The service was perfect, and of course I love the Celebrity extra's like no announcements, etc. I know there is probably a lot of info about the pod problems, but I have to say that it did not affect our trip, and morale was high onboard.

The Itinerary...

Wheeew! 14 days with only 2 days at sea is something else! We had a great trip, though it was very exhausting. The weather overall was fantastic, perfect for touring the countries.

More later when I am home!

Hi - I sailed with "Host Joe" on this cruise. It was PERFECT in every way. WOW just about sums it up. The ship was wonderful. The service everywhere was wonderful. The ports were amazing. At our 2nd connections party, (Yup, we had 2) we learned about the pod problem from one of the cruisers who happened to go on cruisecritic to check something else. It didn't effect us in any way. Not sure why we left Santorini early and can't say it was because of the problem.

Joe - Looking forward to reading your review. Funny bumping into you on Las Rambles in Barcelona. :) I know you had a fantastic cruise too.

So glad to hear about your great experience on this cruise as we are about to book it for next November. I am a little concerned about the weather at this time of year and would appreciate any input on this. Helps to know how to pack.

Hi - Ah...the weather. We had absolutely perfect weather every day except one. I packed turtlenecks and brought a winter jacket. Almost every day was in the high 60's! Wished I had brought more short sleeve shirts and I obviously didn't need the winter jacket. The problem is just because we had that warm, fabulous weather doesn't mean it would happen again. So..pack layers, layers and more layers so you have a big choice! :) Really, just make sure you have some short sleeve things, more long sleeve polos and a few sweaters. Onboard we actually sat by the pool in bathing suits some days. We went into the T-pool a few times.

I agree with what Sandy has stated regarding weather. The only thing I would do next time is to bring more warmer weather clothes, like Sandy said, as there were unexpected "days by the pool"! The most useful thing that we bought was a small "pack-it" jacket that we could attach to a belt-loop in case we needed it!
