just wondering what recent reviews of the ship are.

is there a casino on the ship?

There are no casinos on any of the NCL America ships (POA, POAm & POH) since gaming is not allowed in Hawaiian waters. (they are not even allowed to have bingo.) The POAm and POH were built without casinos and the POA (which was converted from the old Norweigan Sky) had its casino converted to a Hawaiian museum and the Golf Hawaii shop.

I highly doubt they will add a casino to the Aloha for her Fanning Island runs since those are not weekly occurances. Having a casino on board for something like 6 days a month, just doesn't sound feasible.

From what we have been hearing, the service on the POA has improved and continues to do so.

Casino gambling is illegal on the fanning island cruises too, because of a law written in 2000 that affects round trip cruises that begin in hawaii. So NCL has never had casinos on the ships that just do fanning island.

The reviews of all three Hawaiian Pride ships have been getting better lately, and it appears NCLA has overcome its problems holding onto American crew. However, while the bartending and housekeeping staff have been wonderful, there are still some complaints about long dining room dinners. But NCL has those complaints too with their international crewed ships.

I'm of the opinion NCLA has turned the tide on American crew retention for the better, and will be able to deliver a wonderful Hawaiian cruise for the less picky cruisers now. I don't think any cruise line can please any of the picky cruisers.

Sorry, by state law, Hawaiian based ships don't have any casinos.
