Cayo Laventado rented by cruiseline?

Recommended Posts

I read in a German forum that the public beach from Cayo Laventado is rented on Tuesdays and Fridays from a cruiseline. On this days it´s not possible to visit the public beach.

Has anybody an idea which cruiseline will be there on this days?

We will be visiting Samana next month on the NCL Spirit on a Thursday. I am surprised to hear that they "rent" the entire island (if that is at all possible). I would be interested in hearing more about this if anybody knows anything since another poster in this forum said she had a local take her out to the island on a boat.

Regent uses the island for a beach day. Here is the link for one of the cruises.

The last "excursion" with no price is the beach day. The other excursions include the option afterwards of joining the guests at the beach when they are returned to the ship.

Ignore the statement at the end about "no pricing available" -- it's the same statement that they use for the Princess Cays day -- which is also no cost and includes lunch and drinks. We did Princess Cays last year on Navigator.

So, it looks like this 11 day cruise gets two private beach parties included.
