How Much is The Senior Discount???

How much of a discount are senior citizens given off bookings? Looking at reserving either an Oceanview or Balcony for my in-laws.

The discount varies. It is not a set amount and it is not available on all cruises. You would have to check the cruise you are interested in to see if there is one.

These are not on all cruises nor for all cabin types on the cruise at times. They are generally out there as the cruise approaches and is not yet filled. You can find some listed on Promowave or pick a cruise and pretend to book and choose 55 plus. Also, be sure to put in the state you live and any military service since, at times, these too offer discounts. I have never seen any set amout for discounts.

My parents saved $300 on an upcoming Alaskan balcony. A friend of my mom's saved $600 on an upcoming Rhapsody out of Galveston. I'm not sure her room type - I think balcony.

It varies...BUT...just so you know or anyone else knows...

 

If say you're booking a cruise for your inlaws AND you're travelling with them....

 

Book one of your inlaws in each room (so it's one old/one young).

 

If you do this you can get both rooms for senior discount.

 

If one person is in the room qualifies for senior discount then the WHOLE ROOM is priced at senior discount.

 

I didn't know this, and never saw it posted here, but found out when I booked my own room with my mom (who is 65) and I got the discount too.

 

BTW...you don't have to sleep with the inlaws - once on board it doesn't matter which room they stay in.

About 3 months prior to booking our Western Carribean on Legend, we saved almost 50% on a Junior Suite.

We got $50 off pp, for one person in the cabin being a senior. All categories on the cruise I signed up for got $50 off. Even only $50 off suites.

 

Better than nothing, I was happy enough to sign up for the cruise.
