communication between rooms

We're sailing with friends on the Sapphire and I'm wondering if they have phones in the rooms so we can call another room? If not we were thinking of bringing along our 2-ways so we can coordinate things without wandering around looking for people on the ship.

Yes, you do have phones inside each stateroom and can call other rooms.

All Princess ships have phones in each stateroom. You can call within the ship for free and call other staterooms easily by dialing the deck number followed by the stateroom number.

yes you can call a different room onboard.

 

For example. if they are on the dolphin deck room 602 then you would dial 9602 (9th deck, room # 602) do you understand?

Voice mail is not operational on all ships. And if voice mail is not operational, neither are wake up calls. Sun Princess told me their system has been down for months.

I always carry an alarm; two wakeups are better than one. I never want to depend on a third party or a computer. ;)

Voicemail worked on the Sapphire when we sailed two years ago. There are also several "house" phones around the ship to call someone back in their cabin. We had 14 traveling in our group, so the voicemail was a very nice feature to have.

I never found a need for a wake up call on NCL. They usually called 5 minutes before they brought the morning coffee ordered on the breakfast card. Does Princess call before they deliver to your room in the morning? Thanks for any information.

Yes they do, and it's great to have coffee while shaving, or putting on makeup in the mornings! Also, on port days, you won't have to worry about oversleeping, because when they start to dock the ship and turn on those sidethrusters, they will wake you up!! it's always noisy enough to wake you up on a port day.
