how private are the extended balconies?

Are the extended balconies truly private or can fellow cruisers from above see onto your balcony?
It depends on the deck. On the Triumph, if your cabin was on the Verandah Deck, virtually *all* of your balcony was visible to anyone on the Lido Deck above. Aft balconies on lower decks, only the area immediately in front of the railing is visible to those above you.
Anyone ever have one of these rooms at the back of the ship and would you recommend it over another balcony?
These are the *best* balconies! Although the wrap-arounds aren't too shabby either.

On the Empress Deck on the Pride no one could see into our extended balcony nor could we see into anyone elses balcony. The only bad part was one night the folks next to use were smoking cigars on their balcony but that was only for one night so it could have been worse.

We had two chairs and a little table on the balcony.
