Live from Carnival Triumph

I'm currently enjoying my western Caribbean cruise on the way to Grand Cayman. Cozumel was great!! Went to Paradise beach and enjoyed the day. I will post a full report upon my return.

For those who hate to cruise in the summer, (too many kids) it's not the case. Other than one incident where I chastised 2 for pushing all the buttons, the children are quite well behaved.

We will be skipping Jamaica due to ts charlie, and calling in Nassau on Friday.

More to come upon my return.

Sea Ya!!:D

Hi..

We leave Saturday on the Triumph for Eastern Caribbean. Im getting really worried about all those nasty storms out there. We have been so lucky in the past, traveling in August. Guess this time it will catch up to us. When would they tell you of a diversion??

Hi,

I just got off the Triumph on Saturday. We had to leave St. Maarten an hour early because of a tropical depression. It was my first cruise and I was really worried. They warned us that there could be high winds but there weren't. We only had a little rain.

They told us about leaving St. Maarten early the evening before, around dinner time. All afternoon excursions were cancelled.

Kayaking was also cancelled in Puerto Rico but I never heard why.

I loved the Triumph!! Had a great time! Shows were great, food was great, everything was great!

My fiance went to hotel lobby to get luggage rack at 9:30 a.m. and next thing I knew there was someone at the door for our luggage! So we just went to the pier (taxi). When we went in the building there was a group of about 50 people traveling together for 15 girls "16 party". There was one other couple and their son. About 10:30 they announced that "if you haven't checked in on the internet you have to get in line". All 50 people got in line. I handed the lady my Fun Pass AND the page with all the info you put in for fun pass(that seemed to be what she really wanted!). She went to a computer behind the desk and 5 min. later came back and let us in. Then the other couple and son did the same(also first time cruisers). So my fiance and I were #'s 7 and 8 to get on. About 10 min. later we went through security scanners and then went to a room with chairs. A half hour later they called us on----in the order we came in. There were 2 weddings that day so all the people involved in that went right onboard---which I understand. So it was very smooth for us since we got there early. We were on before noon and went to eat since room wasn't ready until 1:30.

Hope this helps.

I am sitting at home and not on the cruise. My family has approx. 35 members on board for a family reunion. They came from Mexico, the US, Israel and I believe some from Argentina. If you run into them they are a fabulous group. Age ranging from 2 to approx. 78. Wish I was sharing the time too.

Have fun,

Ellyn

  • 2 weeks later...

hello everybody! i just got back from my carnival triumph cruise on the 21st and it was awesome.. our cruise director was CARLO and he was funny.. alos good looking. My family(8 people) loved a few other that i think should be named here.. so here it goes.. The 2 greatest social hosts ever!! KARLENE and WEE JIMMY.. we couldnt get enough of them. they cracked us up. Our waiter at dinner was Niles he was from Guatamala. he was so nice and kind. at last but certainly not least was our room steward: Diana!!! We give her major props. She was nothing but sweet and nice. They only thing that me and my cousins didnt like was the Volleyball girl. she did not know that proper rules and was rude.. It figures she was the only one from the US.. well if anybody else was on the carnival Triumph from 8/14-8/21 email me ay carnivalchica28@yahoo.com.. or anybody that has been on it too.. would love to hear from ya and swap stories and comments!

:D

bye! ~~~ Aimee
