What are your tips/methods you use in the casinos?

Blackjack, roulette, slots ????

Hey, you didn't list craps .. lol Should you want to give that a try, stick with the come out roll and 4 and 6. The 'dealers' at the craps table will be more than happy to teach you. I know previously mid-afternoon on a sea day they had lessons in the casino for certain games.

I only play the slots, nickels or quarters. I am a very cheap gambler. I start with $20.00 dollars, if I go through the 20 without hitting I move to another machine. In the evening finding a slot machine is next to impossible. Remember only spend what you can afford to lose. Since you can use your sail & sign card be extra careful, you might overspend.

Caution with roulette on the ship....with the ships movement, it can work for or against you. I had seen the ball drop in a number (one I picked of course) and pop out as the ship moved. I play roulette a lot in Reno so yes, I have seen the ball roll into a number and roll out, but the ball activity on the ship was different from what i have seen on land.

I stop at a slot machine and put in a few quarters. If I win something I will sit and try it out. I like the video poker machines too. They are fun. Usually each time I cruise I will play the dollar machines once. I only use a $20.00 bill and the machine I try to find are the wheel of fortune machines. They are so much fun if you hit the wheel and get to spin. I'm not a big gambler, but enjoy having alittle fun in the casino. I like to watch people and see how they play. Or walk around the casino and see someone hit it big. Whistles and bells are blasting. Oh what a nice tune to hear.........:)

Sometimes I go to the casino during the day when we are at sea. I've tried to go to the pool, but with the crowds there is no place to sit. So playing the slots during the day has been fun. There is hardly any cigarette smoke either.

make sure you play the 3 card option!

Gives you the chance to win on your first 3 dealt cards (I win so much cash by doing this, odds are better)

I have to crusie for this game as around here they do not have the 3 card option :(

Allot money for each night. We gamble every night, when we get low we go to the nickel or dime slots. Then walk out and enjoy the rest of the evening so you can gamble the next night. Have fun.

1st off people who play off a "cheat sheet" crack me up, they never win because they play by the book and can't open up their game. For blackjack get a book on betting progression that is how to win money bet more as you are on a winning streak to off set losses. Roulette pick 3 numbers in a row on the whhel and play them or just play red/black. I did the above and walked away with almost 3k last month

They DO NOT have Let it Ride on the ships.

Anyone remember Chevy Chase in National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation. Just give the dealer all of your money and he'll take you out back and kick you ...... Quicker and less painful.

I play video poker. I got lucky one time, hit a royal flush, and won $1000 the first night out on a 10 day cruise. I also play a bit of roulette and I'll play some blackjack if I can find a cheap enough table. Mostly, I just budget a certain dollar amount to spend in the casino and consider it part of my entertainment. I also budget my time there. Win or lose after a set time I leave and do something else.

Unless you have a particular favorite game, you'll maximize your odds by sticking with the "standard" table games (blackjack, craps, roulette).

Avoid the machines, where the casino can very easily adjust the payout percentages to shockingly low levels.

I also stay away from the newer, unfamiliar table games (where they've changed the rules and payouts, with the end result always being that the odds shift further away from the player).

If you play blackjack, get a basic strategy card and follow it.

If you play craps, stick to the pass/don't pass line bets.

If you play roulette, consider switching to blackjack or craps ;). The best odds on a double-zero roulette wheel are still twice as bad as blackjack with basic strategy or the pass line in craps.

Look up the house edge for the different bets in the different games on wizardofodds.com and you'll see what I mean.

Unless you're counting cards in blackjack you'll never shift the odds in your favor on any game, but with smart play you can whittle down the house edge to the point where you stand a better chance at stretching your gambling budget to cover the amount of time you want to play.

MOST IMPORTANT: Set a firm budget for the amount of money you're willing to lose each day. When you've lost it, no matter what, GET UP AND WALK AWAY!

Good luck,

Dave

Never Let your wife play next to you....

Every time she sits next to me, I ALWAYS loose... I am soo transfixed by her, she is soo cute and she is my wife.. I cant concentrate on the game and I loose.. plus she always takes half my stack to play with and she looses that too.

Inspiration in 2004 and 2005, Glory in 2006 and 2007.

Please check your information before you say it.

The way they play 3 card poker on the boat is just like let it ride...Actually it is more like let it ride than 3 card poker!

you are not playing against the dealer. You are using the 2 community cards along with your three cards. The pair plus bet called the bonus bet.

the bonus bet makes all the difference! DH got a straight flush in his three card hand which paid 40 to 1 on his bonus bet. He pulled back the rest of the bets since a 4,5,6 was not going to give him anything higher than the required pair of 10s...

Watch each table a bit for dealer tendancies and casino edges. There are missing cards ( no queens in the spin the wheel if you get blackjack table ) lower payout odds in carrib stud, etc.. Watch out for newbies on the blackjack tables.

The last hand I played was a push, the dealer paid me by mistake, and the lady to my right corrected him  This after loosing 9 straight hands. Time to move on anyway.

They have it on the Legend

We entered the slot tourny one afternoon. We didn't win anything, but it was a lot of fun none the less.

I really didn't like the choice of slots on the ship, so I stuck to roulette. I went in with $100, and if I played it down to $50 without winning I walked away (I'm a cheap gambler lol). DBF however did quite well playing Let it Ride. ;)
