Birthday while on cruise

Anything special you can arrange with your waiter or anyone? Apart from the obvious things you can buy, like room decorations, do they do anything special for you? Or is this just wishful thinking?

They use to have a cake for free. But now I think there is a small charge due to misuse. :confused:

I Had A Birthday On The Ship And My Husband Had To Order Decorations For A Fee Before Hand. They Were In Our Room When I Got On Board, Then They Had A Cake And Sang To Me At Dinner.

If you tell your waiter they will still bring you a desert with a candle for free & sing to you. For us this was just as good because we were usually to full after dinner for a whole cake anyhow.

My nieces birthday was during our cruise in July and I had ordered the room decorations which a cake is included with. The decorations were in the stateroom when we arrived and the cake arrived later that afternoon. Her birthday was actually the following day but I thought it was a good way to start off the cruise. We enjoyed the cake with our group in the room and then on her birthday we had arranged for the waiter to bring her dessert with a candle in it and the waiters all sang to her. It was all very nice.

How were the decorations?Were they worth the price?

I thought they were because my niece really got a kick out of it and loved them. They are streamers with balloons and a big happy birthday sign. They lasted the whole week so we really got to enjoy them.

I had decorations in my cabin last year. My best friend surprised me with them. Very cute. Another friend ordered a cake that was delivered to the table at dinner and they sign happy birthday. The cakes are $7.95 plus tax. Nice touch but some don't think it is worth the money. I think it was worth the experience and was very touched.

It is sort of annoying actually. Before they started charging for the little cake it seemed like every table had a birthday or anniversary. This distracts from the service your waiter is suppose to be providing since he is busy singing.
