Current concierges?

Would someone please comment on Nadia? Have never sailed with her before. Is she OK with taking a drink out of the lounge in a paper cup? Please, no flames. I know the rules, but nearly all the concierges that I have sailed with allow this.

You're welcome. :0

Also, I just got off Freedom and Willie was the concierge and Rahul the diamond concierge.

And, I might add, both are excellent IMHO. That includes Amit, when he is there.

Agree about the Freedom team of concierges!

Just off the FR.same two(Willie and Rahul) on there..........and have to disagree(of course,my opinion) about them, esp Willie......:rolleyes:wont get into it,but I was not the only one treated the way we were.....just put it this way,Im sure if I was in a suite,it would had been different....I rarely,if ever come home and contact RCCL,but I will in this case.......

I am not going to get into it on here.....I know some think the world of him..who knows, maybe he was having a bad week.

Hey Kathy....Sorry you had a bad experience. Is this the same Willie that was on RD a few years ago? If so, we thought he was pretty good but nowhere near the best. However, I agree with you on the suite thing....but that seems to be more and more of the concierges. I also agree maybe it was a bad week for him. I know many folks love Francois and everyone RAVES over Reyno. However when we had them on OA inaugural we were not pleased with their service. We just took it that they were having a bad week. We have sailed with Francois since then on a smaller ship and he did just fine. Have not had the opportunity to sail again with Reyno but since everyone loves him we figure they were both just having a bad week and were overwhelmed because of the new big ship. I know you have been around enough to know a good concierge from a bad one. I do however think that they are probably all being told to focus on the suite guests. JMHO Just like RC now letting kids in suites in the CL. I think management is pushing the suite thing...again JMHO.

His new contract begins on Feb 4th and hopefully back on Serenade. I suppose it depends on whether or not Liberty management is successful in stealing him away. It seems you will just miss him either way. :(

Change your cruise! :D

Gina

Mario is a terrific Concierge, and unless he's gone to another ship, I imagine that Francois is just filling in for him. I'm looking forward to meeting him in a few weeks, though.

We only met Rahul briefly one time, but I agree about Willie. He didn't treat Jeff and I badly, personally (we were not in a suite), but we witnessed him treating friends we met very rudely, mishandling two situations. One, he was enforcing policy, but it should have been handled differently. A friend had, earlier in the week not long before happy hour ended, asked the bartender if it was ok to make a drink for me and for Jeff (she was trying to be helpful). He said, "of course". Willie was not there. So on day six another friend was ready for a drink and the bartender was away getting glasses and Willie at his desk doing nothing, so she started to make a cocktail. Willie SPRUNG up there, grabbed the bottle, and scolded her in front of everyone. IMO he should have quietly told her what she was doing was not permitted and then asked what drink she had been going to make, and assured her he would take care of it. Another time a friend (when the lounge was mostly empty as it was fairly near 8:30) pulled a loveseat over to where we were sitting so that someone who had just come it could join us, rather than sit at a distance and have to shout. Again, Willie SPRUNG across the room, vehemently yanked the loveseat back to where it was originally stating "it looks bad over there". Again, could have been handled much better and in example #2 I do not believe there was even a policy issue as furniture is moved around to accomodate people all the time in the lounge.

I think it would be in bad taste for someone to drop a dime in Nadia here if she did!!! Like noone from RCL or Guest Relations management reads these posts. Suffice it to say she is one of the best!!!!!!

Good thing Rahul didn't mind us moving furniture..we did it every night to fit another couple in our area that we sat every night. Matter fact Rahul impressed me when one night the 2 of couples were a little later due to a excursion...and he had our drinks waiting for us!:)

This really doesn't sound like the Willy we know and love. Been on the Freedom quite a few times in the past 2 years, and have been lucky to have both Willy and Amit in the Diamond Lounge. No we were not in suites. Willy not only made our drinks, but would have them ready as we walked in the door. he couldn't have been more attentive. As far as furniture, he would get chairs or move something to accomodate us or anyone else. He was and is the best. I, personally can't wait to see him shortly.

Like I said,Im sure some of you love him,but not me..........he rarely got up from his computer while we were in the CL........BUT that was not the problem at all............I did prefer the 2 bar servers.......they were super and had great personalities...

BTW-surprising to me,they allowed to go drinks in the CL...........people would come in and just walk up to the bar server and ask for a drink to go in a paper cup.....

I'm not sure if this is true. On our Allure cruise, people were talking about the concierge NOT being allowed to mingle with the passengers. Any truth to this?

Carlos and Marina did stay close to their desk. Don't think they are happy with all that is going on being a concierge. Who can blame them.

If Carlos and Marina stayed by the desk, maybe something is going on with the new children allowed stuff. I'll see what it's like in a few weeks Willy has always been cordial and helpful with everyone. Maybe new rules, yucky thought

Oh my, heading for Freedom OTS this weekend. We're D, one cruise away from D+, and we are in a suite. Wonder which lounge we should frequent?

Check 'em both out:cool: then go to the one you like. :p I think the D/D+ lounge will blow you away but I may be confused - it has been awhile. If you don't care for one over the other go to the one that is easiest to get to. :)

Hey, Pete and Marilyn, how are you two doing? Will we see you on Mariner this winter?

We're doing as well and enjoying as much sea time as possible for a full time job ;)

We just got back from Vision at Istanbul. We'll be on Voyager 21 Jan and Vision again Jun 16-Jul 7, 2012. We jumped on Mariner for the 9 night welcome to Galveston 'cause we needed to rest after Isreal, Greece, and Turkey :D

I see you have been busy! We are just back from Radiance's inaugural sailing to Australia.

I guess we will miss you, we won't be on Mariner until January.

Liberty is next, on 11/12.

I have to agree with Kathy. It was made clear to us on day one that Willy preferred his suite guests, He blew us away as D+. The two bar servers Ashton and Andre were great.

Try them both. We did, see which Concierge treats you better. But I suspect you will be very welcome in the Lounge.
