Well besides the 25.00 Resin models, one can sometime purchase a very detailed 1:1250 scale model made of metal. I have a large collection of these models of many cruise ships and liners. Here is a recent shot of the collection, which has accrued of many years from many sources all over the world.

do you have a Commodore Enchanted Isle? I would love to a picture of it. I have every ship we've been on except the Commodore Enchanted Isle. I wonder if it was even made. I have a extra RCCL Spendour of the Seas...

I do have a model of the Volendam which became either the Enchanted Isle or Enchanted Seas, I forget which as her identical sister the Veendam was the other. Here she is second from the bottom with her other 1970's era Holland America sisters, the Rotterdam, Statendam and Prinsendam. Unfortunately I only have one, and it is not available for sail or trade.

 

 

You might try searching on ebay for Passport Product models of the Bermuda Star, which was one of the names she carried between HAL and Commodore. I know there was a ceramic model of her made once. The ceramics were a little larger than these 1:1250 scale models

yes the second from the bottem is it. we went on her back in 1995 and had a wonderful time. I will never forget that cruise. I have been searching for some time on e-bay and other places with no luck. But I know I will get one sooner or later. I really only want ships I've been on. Thanks for the picture.... Robbie J

While I do not see the Bermuda Star available on ebay now, there are a few auctions of the Passport models in the Collectables area. Here are a few pics from the three auctions to get an idea of what these models are like.

 

 

 

 

So there is a model of the ship out there, just keep searching...

One other option would be to buy the Revell kit of the S.S. Brasil on ebay, as they come up pretty often. This is what the Enchanted Isle was originally built as in Mississippi in the 1950's. But this is a kit that would need to be put together.

There is a model of the Brasil on ebay right now, in the smaller 1:1250 scale. I have the model as well, it is pretty nice. Here is the link

I try to buy a model of each ship I sail on. They are normally in the gift shops and only cost $25.00 to $35.00 each. I am getting a nice collection of Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess and Celebrity ships.:D

 

DH does allot of models....only he wants the larger scale ones that are on display..think their about $2500.00 :eek:

I also have started to get the ships captain to sign them.

 

Is it easy to get the captain to sign them? I've never been on a cruise, so I wasn't sure how available the captain would be to do stuff like that. :)

The best place to have that done would be the Captains talk. On Royal Caribbean there was a Captains Talk / Ask the Captain a Question meeting in one of the lounges on the last sea day. He is around the ship most every day doing something that will be noted in the daily cruise paper. On Disney the Captain was in the gift shop at scheduled times. And on others there were scheduled photo opportunities. It’s not that hard.

Does anyone know if the cast ship replicas are being sold on the Celebrity Century these days? I've cruised on the Galaxy and Mercury, but they weren't offered there. I like to have one from each class of ship I've been on, not every individual ship.

it is a resin model they sell in the gift shop onboard only. It is about 7 to 8 inches long. I have seen them on E-Bay from time to time. Search on E-Bay for cruise ship model and you will see ship models there.

About the models of the ship, they sell them on the ship but only the model of the ship you are on.

 

Those people that want some, try to find some friend that will go on that ship and tell them to buy it for you. It usually costs $25.00. Some of them are bigger than other. In this case the model of the Adventure of the Seas is bigger. My brother has a lot of them and if he can't travel, he tries to find somebody that can buy the model that he wants from the ship.
