premiumrican Posted September 1, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Are there any internet cafes where i can access my emails at any of the ports in alaska? such as in Jueanu, Ketichkan or Sitka? I know the ship's have high fees for internet usage was wondering if there is some in port for a lesser price.

Krazy Kruizers Posted September 1, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Does the library in Juneau still let you use their computers for free?

Krazy Kruizers Posted September 1, 2004 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2004 We didn't have any trouble using last year - not too many people knew about it then.
Krazy Kruizers Posted September 1, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Has anyone tried using the information that WAVTAM gave to find out where the internet cafes are in Juneau, Ketchikan, and Skagway? I tried - didn't get anywhere.
Melissa_A Posted September 2, 2004 #8 Share Posted September 2, 2004 Juneau Seaport Cyber (175 S. Franklin). Buy a $5 card good for an hour online in three ports -- Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan. Ketchikan Seaport Cyber (on the pier, upstairs at #216 Salmon Landing) offers Internet access. You can buy a card that works in three ports -- Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau. Skagway The Skagway Email Cafe, adjacent to The Golden North Hotel, offers Internet access and laptop hookups.

goodman Posted September 3, 2004 #12 Share Posted September 3, 2004 Melissa, I used the Seaport Internet cafes in Juneau and in Skagway. It was simple to do. The one in Juneau is a "happening" place. The one in Skagway is a coffee shop with several computers. Fun.

lucyjohnz Posted September 3, 2004 #14 Share Posted September 3, 2004 The Juneau Seaport branch was a little harder to find - it was on the right hand of the main street upstairs. We bought the card there and used it for about 20 minutes - no problems with connect time and it was pretty empty. In Skagway, it's a little bit of a walk and down a side on the left (when coming from the ship). Finally, we went to the one in Ketchikan which is on the 2nd floor of a very nice shopping building and computers look out at the berthed ships.
