Rare dickinson Posted September 1, 2004 #7 Share Posted September 1, 2004 I don't see any update on Carnival's web site. I am really annoyed that they make no references at all about this storm. At the least they should be saying they are watching things and will notify us as soon as there are any changes to report. I don't even see anything about the port changes of any of the ships already out to sea. I love carnival but I think they have fallen down with this one. If I just don't know where to look on their website, please let me know. thx.

steveaaaa Posted September 1, 2004 #9 Share Posted September 1, 2004 I don't see any update on Carnival's web site. I am really annoyed that they make no references at all about this storm. At the least they should be saying they are watching things and will notify us as soon as there are any changes to report. I don't even see anything about the port changes of any of the ships already out to sea. I love carnival but I think they have fallen down with this one. If I just don't know where to look on their website, please let me know. thx. Look at it from their point of view. Of course they are watching it,but why alarm anyone yet? The storm could still turn and they have so much riding on this that it must be a disaster in the offices.Think about the air/sea people and those who need to get to a port but might not be able to because of an evac situation. My folks were told to evac and they live near daytona. lmondrop Posted September 1, 2004 Author #10 Share Posted September 1, 2004 I agree Steveaaa...I just spoke with Carnival and they said that as of yet no changes are in place. They really won't be able to tell for sure until tommorow or even Friday. Besides Carnival will do everything in thier power not to cancel thier cruise...short of putting passengers in danger...becuase it would be a huge loss of money to not have that ship cruise for a week. poolgal Posted September 1, 2004 #11 Share Posted September 1, 2004 I can't figure out how to see any posting's on the Carnival website except for news release's which (at this moment) are current to 8/31. What am I doing wrong?

rcicruiser Posted September 1, 2004 #13 Share Posted September 1, 2004 The should have posted that two of their ships have made some port changes like other cruise lines did. As far as this weekend the cruiselines do not know what they are going to do until they know what the Hurricane is going to do.
mmmccrac Posted September 1, 2004 #14 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Just got off the phone with Carnival..they have information for 9/2 out of PC departure. Decision was made to sail with no ports..........at sea only. Call them if you are cruising with them. They have options.
lmondrop Posted September 1, 2004 Author #15 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Carnival Triumph sailing on the 4th...they have no information yet...They at Carnival say that not until Friday will they know better what's going to happen. One of the problems is the Triumph that is out to sea right now....question is: Will they be able to get into MIA port? If so, Will we leave later on Saturday instead of departing at 4PM? swammie511 Posted September 1, 2004 #17 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Does anyone know how far Port Canaveral is from Miami? I am wondering what will happen with the Triumph sailing this Saturday
lmondrop Posted September 1, 2004 Author #18 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Port Canaveral is about 3.5 hours away from Miami. I'm live in Miami. I am sailing on the Triumph on Saturday...weather permitting...but I doubt that the Triumph will leave out of Port Canaveral since the hurricane is headed straight in that direction. poolgal Posted September 1, 2004 #19 Share Posted September 1, 2004 Maybe you'll get lucky and they will change The Triumph to leave from The Port Of Miami which would be more convient for you.
folashade Posted September 1, 2004 #20 Share Posted September 1, 2004 ugggh I am stressing right now. I am scheduled to leave on the 5th from tampa but am flying in from NYC. Hopefully the flights won't be to delayed. my flight is early enough that I can have a 3 hour delay
dms_cruisers04 Posted September 1, 2004 #21 Share Posted September 1, 2004 folashade, considering that's west coast and Frances looks to be tracking north, I'm sure TPA will still be in working order, but I would definitely expect a big delay. Good luck.
