C & A Utimate Value Booklet

My friend just came back from a cruise and gave me his unused coupons from his C & A Ultimate Value Booklet. I am sailing Nov 17th - can I use them? It says on the coupons for this sailing only - but nowhere does it mention the sailing date or ship. Has anyone ever done this?

Thanks -

Kathy

I've read a number of tips suggesting that if you don't use all your coupons, you could leave them in the safe in your cabin for the next occupants. When we were on the Explorer last month, we found some coupons in our safe. There was nothing I wanted, so I didn't try to use them, but apparently it is done. I left those as well as mine for the next people. (I even left a Johnny Rockets coupon!!)

We used a bunch of our coupons when we were on the Freedom. The internet one you probably couldn't use since it needs to be filled out ahead of time. The only other one I was asked to show "proof" that I was a Diamond member was when I got our two free portraits.

How do you get these coupons? We have been on two RC Cruises and just signed up for Crown and Anchor a few weeks back (I actually just got my C&A card in the mail today!). Do they leave them in your cabin? or do they mail them to you?

Also can anyone list all the coupons you get in the book? I know someone mentioned a photo, spa, and johnny rockets coupon, but what exactly are they for?

Thanks!

They are in your cabin when you board (or shortly thereafter). The exact amounts of the coupons vary by length of cruise and whether you are Gold, Platinum, or Diamond C&A.

I just used my casino credits last week that I received on my May cruise. It wasn't a problem. The bar codes were exactly the same on both books.

But in most cases, they still checked my SeaPass. If you are not a C&A member, or if you are Gold trying to use Diamond discounts, they will not allow it.

Wrona answered the first part of your question. As for the second, you will coupons related to bingo, spa services, johnny rockets (comes on all of the ships, even those without a JR), photo gallery, casino, bottles of wine, cocktails, Ben & Jerry's, Seattle's Best, internet (I know I'm leaving something out)...

I can only remember the Diamond/D+ book, which has the richest bunch of benefits:

- One free house brand glass of wine, cocktail or beer (w/souvenir glass to keep)

- Buy a bottle of wine, get the second at 20% off (your waiter can keep the second bottle for another night if you don't drink it all)

- Something free with bingo (I don't play it, so I don't pay attention)

- 20% off a spa treatment

- Free Peace Pop from B&J

- one free non-alcoholic specialty coffee from Lattetudes

- a free photo of any size

- $10 coupon for Internet (20 free minutes)

- some $5 match play coupons for the casino and three of get $12 worth of tokens for $10 (they just give you $6 or $6 worth of tokens)

- some kind of airbrush tattoo coupon, just can't remember that one...

The Gold level has a buy one get one free on the drinks and the percentage discounts tend to be lower, but it's still a nice gesture if you use the services. Platinum has their own book, too.

Just an FYI, I seen a number of RCL Coupon books for sale on Ebay.

I thought about buying them, but since it's a hit & miss if I'ld be able to use them or not, I don't think I will.

Ofcourse there was nothing in the description they you might not be able to use.

I saved my Gold coupon book from my last cruise b/c there was no Johnny Rockets, etc. and I thought I'd use it again later. My January cruise I'm still Gold, but it's only three nite and we still don't have a Johnny Rockets on the ship. The cruise after that we're all Platinum. Will I still be able to use tickets from a Gold book? Everyone's made it clear here (and it would be obvious) that you can't use a Platinum coupon as a Gold person, but can you go the other way? Anyone tried it?

I will add something here that I did not see mentioned. My DD misplaced her youth crown and anchor coupon book in the cabin so we went to GR to get her a new one. There was not problem getting another book but they did tell us that if she tries to use a coupon already redeemed for the same deal the system will deny it.

So if you dont use Johnny Rockets on the first cruise and redeem two on your next cruise, the coupon may not work. If that is true, we dont know because she did not use two of the same coupons.

Some of you mentioned the spa coupons. I have always used them and ALWAYS been asked to fill them out. Note the fine print - it says one per passenger per sailing. I played "dumb" and asked if I could use it since we had 2 coupons and husband doesn't do spa. One time I was able to do so, the other I was not able to do so. The time I was not allowed was ironic because I had a very good rapport with the staff and the way I asked the question made it possible for us to "gossip" about how many people try to do exactly that and become quite belligerent to the staff about it. It does indeed say one per sailing. So my humble suggestion is to play dumb - who doesn't like to save a few bucks - but be polite if you get "called" on it. I have also been asked to fill in the ones for photos but not the casino or free drink ones. And I know Mr Wolf has had to fill in his internet ones.

Ok, as C&A go you get a free gift in your room like a towel or bag?

Thanks

Yes you get a gift in your room. The gift varies from cruise to cruise. I've gotten totebags on a few cruises, picture frames on others, one cruise it was a toiletry bag.

Just back from the Freedom and my granddaughter used the current buy one get one free movie rental from that cruise booklet, and had a prior coupon of the same from a June Liberty Cruise, and she also used that, she rented 4 video's and paid for 2. I also had photo coupon's left over from the Liberty for free photo's and used them along with the Freedom free photo coupons(was only asked to show my Diamond status for the photo's).

For the longest time I didn't think you could use them...now I find you can. No harm in trying.

We are C & A members, have received the booklets on previous cruises but where do you find the internet coupons some people have mentioned..

I realize on the internet but where to look for them? Thanks:)

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. But I think the internet coupons are for use of the internet while on the ship. Not a coupon you download from the internet. At leasts that's the way I read it.

I think the ones you are after are the C&A member coupons off cruises that are found on line. If so, go to http://www.royalcaribbean.com and log into your account. Then go to crown and anchor society -- special offers .. saving certificates.
