Princess Cruise Lines Casino Chips

Does anyone collect Princess Cruise Lines casino chips?

Since we became regular Princess cruisers, it has been my passion to collect all the different chips that specifically has the ship's name on the chip's face.

I have a fairly large collection of $1, $2.50 and $5 chips but I am missing a couple of ships. The chips needed most are from the Coral Princess. I need the $1, $2.50 and the $5 regular and $5 inaugural chips.

If anyone has extra of these chips, I would be happy to pay premium to help finish my collection.

Also, if anyone is interested in trading Princess chips, I have several duplicates I have been using to trade with others. Just let me know if you are interested.

My email address is: ajg@tylerpaper.com and I live in Tyler, Texas.

We sail on the Island Princess Dec. 3 from San Juan, PR through the Panama Canal and up the Mexican Riviera. Let me know if you need Island Princess chips.

Hope this gets someone interested.

Each ship has a distinctive casino chip. A set usually consists of the $1, $2.50, and $5 chips. One of the $5 chips is considered the house chip, and a limited number of $5 chips are issued on the inaugural cruise and has a different face, with markings indicating the number issued and the words, "Inaugural." These are still available and are most likely found on the craps table.

Roulette chips are not collectible since the casino keeps pretty close tabs on them. However, all others are easy to get either from the tables or from the cashier.

We started a collection years ago and have been able to buy a few on EBAY. However, it is easy to contact persons to trade chips. That's the fun part of it since many friends have been willing to cart off chips, mail and share them.

My collection is almost complete. However, the one set of chips I desperately need are from the Coral Princess. I am willing to pay premium for someone to get them for me if I don't find them on the Island Princess this next week. We are booked on the IP out of San Juan, PR, Dec. 4 for a trip through the Panama Canal and up to the Mexican Rivera. The Island is the sister ship to the Coral and both sail through the canal this time of year.

Hope this helps. If you know anyone going on the Coral Princess ask them to get some chips.

When I get all the chips, I plan to display them in a large frame over my bar, if my wife agrees.

Below is an example of how colorful the $5 chips are: THE GOLDEN PRINCESS $5 HOUSE CHIP

I'm new to this board and just booked our first cruise for Feb 2009 - but I'm a moderator at another dedicated to poker chips.

Try http://www.chiptalk.net - there is classified section to post Want to Buy's and a free section for Collectible chip trading. If you have traders (extras of some chips) it should be easy to trade for the ones you're looking for.

Also try the CC&GTCC, Casino Chip & Gaming Token Collector's Club. They have a message board as well. http://www.thechipboard.com. You can certainly post about the chips you are looking for.

Finally, the Chip Guide - http://www.chipguide.com - has a section on Cruise Ships known as "wet chips" There is a link to John Long's site http://www.chipsandships.net

The chips you need are out there - good luck in your search.

Hi, I was wondering if you received the Carnival past guest pins when you sailed the Tropicale or Inspiration in the '90's ??
