Early Menu's?

Recommended Posts

[B][SIZE=2][COLOR=Indigo][FONT=Comic Sans MS]I was wondering if anybody knows if there's a way to get the menu for the dining room early? We wanted to try and plan our chops and portofino's nights when the menu didn't have our favorites on it, and surely didn't want to miss the filet mignon. I don't know how much notice you need for reservations.

I don't know how much notice you need to make reservations. But I do know that they typically post the menus outside of the dining room prior to the next meal. If that isn't enough notice, my impression is they do not change the menus that much from cruise to cruise with the same itinerary, so you could ask someone who has done your itinierary to report out which day your favorite was on.

Debbie - your best bet is to go to either Chops or Portofinos the day you board. They will have dining room menus for every evening of the cruise, intentionally for those of us who want to plan our alternative dining around the food in the main room. That way, you won't have to take the chance of them changing the menu from last week to your week. We plan on using alternative dining at least three times on our next cruise - once for each paid venue and at least once in the Windjammer to meet with our entire roll call on this forum. Like you, we certainly don't want to miss the filet, the prime rib or the lobster. When you look at the menus, make your reservations on the spot. The alternative rooms book up fast. If you make your reservations the very first day, you'll stand a good chance of getting the days and times that you want.

BTW, if you like prime rib, try it at Chops. Last cruise, I received what I rate to be the best I've ever had in my entire life. And living in Las Vegas, I eat a lot of prime rib!

Ivcruiser thank you so much for that information.I would have never thought of that.I was wondering the same thing.I was looking at the menus and didn't see anything I liked on Caribbean night and wondered if there was a way to figure out which night it was and book Chops that night.

Thanks so much for the info, that is just what we'll do. Yes I am a big prime rib fan and will order it at chops as per your recommendation. Can't wait, have heard nothing but good things about chops and their food and service, so I know we will be eating there a couple of times at least. What did you think of Portofino's? Did you ever eat there?

Thanks again for the info.
