palmtre2 Posted September 8, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 8, 2004 Just booked an Upper deck extended balcony cabin - one of six across the back of the ship. Has anyone had one of these rooms? I'm taking my SIL on her first taste of cruising and don't want to turn her off.
tef43 Posted September 8, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 8, 2004 You'll love it. We had an aft balcony on the Verandah Deck (just below the lido). If I had it to do over again, I would drop down a deck or three.
palmtre2 Posted September 8, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted September 8, 2004 Tef43, why would you drop down a deck... I would think engine vibration would be worse the lower you got. Do you get more motion up higher??

Do you get more motion up higher?? We were directly below the lido. Chair noise from above, minor but mildly annoying. And unique to the balconies on the Verandah Deck, they are 75% visible to people on the lido above. Unlike the lower decks where you would have to be right up against the railing to be seen from above. No perceptable motion or vibration, other than from the maneuvering thrusters when docking or leaving port, or in our case, when stopping dead in the middle of the Atlantic to rescue a boatload of Haitian refugees.
