Please..let's write some REVIEWS !

Recommended Posts

There's an entire section on these Message Boards devoted to REVIEWS..

http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/index.cfm

..where cruisers recount their shipboard experiences.

I went looking for Ocean Village reviews to find only six

http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/getreviews.cfm?action=ship&ShipID=289

two of them dating back to 2003 and 2005

for Eastern Caribbean cruises!

Dear oh dear! :(

I then went looking for Ocean Village Two reviews

to discover there are none at all: zero!

________________________________________________

Boys and girls, we are an enthusiastic group in here

as I've discovered over the last few weeks

and I feel we owe it to ourselves -and to others who may be considering booking-

to each contribute a review of our past cruises on either OV1 or OV2

I shall be submitting a review of my January 2nd-9th OV2 Eastern Caribbean cruise

and would like to encourage anyone who's just returned from any recent Ocean Village holiday

whether Med. or Caribbean - on either ship

to please put together a few words

to remedy this dearth of valuable opinion re. our favourite cruise line.

Surely we can do this?

I fully agree with you Aplmac, as a new cruiser I have been searching for reviews and have been very dissapointed not to find any. Like you, I shall be writing my review as soon as I come back in March 2008 (Good or Bad).

Also Cruisecritic has only recently recognised Ocean Village "2" as a ship. So people could not select that. Don't forget Ocean Village 2 only started earlier this year!

Interesting to read the OV2 "professional review" just added on this site. I see that it clarifies the purpose of the "club" lounge as for those in the suites to pay £70 a week for free internet access, free water/soft drinks and free alcoholic drinks 5pm-8pm!

Am I right in thinking that passengers from the first two week cruise of the western Caribbean on OV1 would be due home this morning? I am now looking for reviews on this board, didn't realise there was another one. Wasn't one of the female participants due back today and we're all looking out for what she has to say about it? I do hope so.

Yes, you're quite right.

Even cruiseclues.com

http://cruiseclues.com/shipstips/

-a normally verrry comprehensive cruise ship website-

hasn't yet recognized the existence of OV2

(I just checked.. and it's still only OV1 !)

Anyway...now that Cruisecritic has included OV2 as a review option

maybe now we'll get a few good reads!

I'm sure there are several of us wanting to hear all about it!

Yes squeakydust back today ,

- think she lives in Scotland though

So may have to wait a while.

Give her a chance to get back home, settle herself,

catch up on email, bills, goodness knows what else

- it'll be maybe a week before she'll be ready to sit and write us a decent account!

Reviews shouldn't be done in a rush,

certainly not First Thing as soon as you get back home!

Let the memory settle and congeal a bit

before putting pen to paper as it were.

Don't rush your review: it'll be standing there for a long time

Those of you who've been home now for months, but haven't done a review..

this would be a good time to do it!

There's actually two members due home early hours of this morning. I should imagine after jet-lag, driving back to Scotland, unpacking, washing etc.. it will be Friday before we see Squeakydust back on here! and then the questions will begin :)

Well persuaded by Aplmac, I've eventually written a review of my trans-atlantic trip earlier this year! Submitted to cruise critic so hopefully will appear shortly, else I'll just post it here :)

My son who is aged 10 went on the olives and ouzo in August this year with his grandparents, he wants to write a review from a childs perspective, do you think this would be a good idea ? it could possibly help parents taking children ? let me know what you think and he will get to work if this is thought acceptable:p

Bravo! and many thanks.

I'll check them out right away!

That reminds me... I should check to see if my Destiny review (May 07 cruise)

submitted 3 or 4 days ago.. has made it 'to Press' !

They emailed me back a response, and I had to get back to them with a correction:

she seemed very chatty and helpful - I reckon they really appreciate our reviews,

so please consider compiling yours?

Ooh, I'll be very interested to read your review George. Once it's 'marked' and available for view please let us know where we can read it.

I might make my 11 and 12 year olds do one too, if I can get them off Runescape?!

Both George and my 2nd review have been posted. I love George's review :) , kids always tell it in a wonderful way. Especially when they took him to the 2nd session of the comedian who swore a lot  :D .

Thank you very much George.

Still 'only' nine Ocean Village reviews

(at least we got it up from five!..I think it was..)

at http://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/getreviews.cfm?action=ship&ShipID=289

and still zero Ocean Village Two reviews..

..I was hoping to have read at least one before I take off

but it's looking more and more like aplmac will be the first one

to do an OV2 review...

George, there were much more kids on this sailing compared to when we did the Eastern Caribbean 2 years ago (same time of year)

My son is very shy and not into football so feels he's not much to talk to other kids about, but he did go to the kids club during the second week. My daughter is less shy and not very girly (ie into dressing up and giggling over boys:rolleyes: ) but she found friends, and we hardly saw her the 2nd week.

One of the Plantatians staff told us that there were loads of kids coming over the Christmas holidays, so I expect you'll find new friends too.

Going to read your review now.

Found it! A bunch of Ocean Village Two reviews

and they're fairly current too!

Looks like they do a much better job of reviews than we do..over at..

http://www.cruise.co.uk/cruise-reviews/search/?reviewcruiselineid=13&reviewcruiseshipid=165&searchsubmit.x=76&searchsubmit.y=10

and if for some reason that URL doesn't work

please go to

http://www.cruise.co.uk/cruise-reviews/

and use the drop-down menus to select Ocean Village Cruises

and ship OV2 to arrive at the results indicated above.
