The cabana is 219.00 per day; I am not certain that Carnival offers the butler package. If they do and this is a special cruise - I would say go for it.

It was about 400.00 for the day and that was in 05; but everything we needed/wanted was included. they had you pick out your menu, select the beverages that you would be drinking and the best part was when our Butler brought champagne and strawberries out into the water for us so we would not have to get out of the water :) pure heaven!

I don't quite think that it was that high when we were on Hal in 2006. I am thinking more around $300. But, I could be wrong. Whatever the price, The butler is definitely an added bonus and I would splurge to do this. I loved that 2 of the crew were dressed in tuxedos and would come in the water with a tray carrying wine glasses yelling, "Champagne anyone". When we said yes, he would dip the glas in the water and hand it to you. The photographer was there ready to snap your pictiure. It was PRICELESS!! OOOOOO , I LOVE HMC!!!

I absolutely loved the Triumph when I sailed on her in late December. I was not sure how I would like Carnival, because I had never been on a Carnival cruise before (always sailed with Princess) but I would not hesitate to go on Carnival again, in fact, I am thinking about the Miracle this year!

I LOVED the cabin. The beds are the softest, most comfortable ever and the duvet is great. I love the pizza bar, 24 hours! I love the little Vienna Coffee bar near the casino. The coffee is reasonably priced and very delicious and the desserts at the vienna cafe are really good.

Also, the little wine bar is fun and there is a great lady from Thailand that serves there that is really friendly and nice. All of you going will have a great time!

The only thing I was not fond of was the food in the buffet. The breakfast was good but the desserts were strange and didn't taste all that good. The desserts in the dining room were awesome!

And I love the appetizers the best.

Have fun!

We were on the Triumph 12/15-22 and had a great time. Cabin Aft 6440, nice cabin though didn't seem to be as big as the other balcony cabins I have had, no problem with stuff on the balcony from being thrown from above, no soot either, although one morning very early my dh stepped out onto the balcony and the sprinklers from above were on so he kinda got a quick shower. The buffet was just that a buffet, some days ok and other days we got a hamburger or pizza, always had a good salad. The line sometimes was just too long to bother with. You will not go hungry by any means, there are many options. We had breakfast in the dining room a couple of times and that was very good. My favorite dessert in the dining room was not the chocolate melting cake, but the bitter and blanc, that was awesome to me, but my table mates thought the melting cake was the best, too me is was a little crust with chocolate syrup, I can't even say it was pudding because it was much more runnier that pudding. The ports were awesome, HMC was beautiful, I didn't care so much for the chairs being right on top of each other, but if you walked a little further down not so bad. St. Thomas was great, we did a tour on our own with Sunny Liston, would take his tour again, $25 per person see his website. http://www.sunnylistontours.com. San Juan we hired a taxi/bus outside the pier for $10 a person, what a great tour and great guide. Grand Turk to me was a high priced tourist trap, yes the beaches pretty, but there again all the chairs are on top of one another, part of our group did go farther down the beach and had a great time snorkling. All in all we had a great trip I would sail on this ship again .

Purr: As you said the bulter was worth every penny :) I only hope that Carnival offers it as well.

At the coffe bar they also sell chocolate covered strawberrie; they are the best!

The main lobby bar was also a nice place to meet prior to dinner its a good place to people watch as well. I love seeing everyone dress up on the formal nights to have their photos taken.

Now I am getting excited all over again to sail in just a few weeks!

We are cruising the Truimph on March 29, our FIRST cruise!!!! We are very exicited. :) My DH and I are both in our early 30's, can't believe we waited this long to try it! I am enjoying all the reviews, can't wait to see Half Moon Cay. Based on the comments, it seems to be a great place to go.

I still feel like there is SO much info to absorb and don't want to miss out on anything! For all you experienced cruisers....keep posting all the great tips! It is greatly appreciated! Looking forward to posting my review in a few months! :D

Thanks, I hope you have a great, fun filled trip! Would you have gone twice on the same ship? That would be fun!

My family has been on enough cruises so that we realize when we are getting on, the trip will fly by. Take advantage of every minute.

One tip for newbies: On days when you dont get off the ship, if you are like me, you can get exhausted trying to do all the activities that there are (that happened on my first and second - by the third I learned). Relax, and before you go, remember that it is ok if you dont do everything you wanted, it just means you have to go on anothr cruise! LOL!

hey all..

can someone reccomend some RELIABLE, decently priced, and SAFE outside tour guides (NON-Carnival Related). Someone mentioned the Sunny Liston one, but i would like to hear of more if possible, thanks!

does Carnival offer these tours at the ports as well?

i would assume if they did, that it would be MUCH more expensive then say the Sunny Liston ones....

Ok i have a few questions. . my husband is going to need to be able to make and recieve calls from his cell phone. Has anyone that uses Sprint been able to get service while on board? We will be doing the eastern itinerary so please let me know... also does data work as well he has a palm treo phone so if anyone has been able to get either or both with sprint service while on board please let me know. Also are their bigger internet plans you can purchase or is the 250 minutes for $100 the highest plan and then you just buy more, etc. . he owns a computer business in town and is worried if he has to help remotely fix a computer issue/server while he is onboard will he be able to connect to the internet with his phone. otherwise we might end up with a huge internet bill since the onboard internet is very very slow from what i've heard.

Also just wondering if anyone has used the video arcade just wondering how much the games are and how it works as far as getting tokens or how they work.

One more question do the tv's in the cabin have hook ups for video consoles like the xbox 360 if we bring it along. Thanks. . I might have more ?'s later but these are the most important ones at the moment for him. Thanks

in St Thomas the best two are Sunnyliston and Godfreys, either will do a tour without having to go thru the cruise line.

In San Juan if you plan to just walk around Old San Juan you really do not need a tour guide, for anything else I would book thru the cruise line.

In Grand Turk, it is difficult to find a private tour guide as this is a newer port for the cruise lines and the people are still getting use to it. The cruise lines have booked most of the tour operators so its difficult to find one that will not point you back to the cruise line for booking.

Hope that helped

Here's a link to our photos. http://picasaweb.google.com/sparkscruiser/EasternCaribeanCruise2007

You may recognize the Miracle from the photo of the week.

Thanks for sharing the gorgeous pics! I am even more excited for our 3/29/08 cruise on the Triumph! I have a few questions if you wouldn't mind answering: Did you use the same camera for the all of your shots (including the underwater photos)? I ask because I was contemplating purchasing the new Olympus that's waterproof, and if you can get beautiful pictures like that, it's so worth it! Also, did you book an excursion from Carnival in San Juan, or just do your own thing? Thanks, if you couldn't already tell, this will be our first cruise!

Our first cruise ever was on the Triumph last June. We loved it so much we came home and booked it for the Western itinerary that sailed 2 months later. It was a great ship to fall in love with cruising on. The tips I can offer would be if you like your beef medium then order it medium rare. Medium on this ship tends to be well done. It took us an entire cruise to get that info. Sushi is free and served outside the casino area during set hours daily. Your capers will tell you when. There's a secret door on deck 7 that we forgot to check out on our second cruise. Someone might have the exact info on which unmarked door you need to take. We absolutely loved both cruises on the Triumph and our only regret was we booked the next one (Liberty/April) way too far out lol. Enjoy your cruise all you lucky upcoming cruisers. Oh and the staff on the Triumph were incredibly friendly!!
