lovelyladi Posted January 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2008 We were on the inaugural crusie of the Tahitian Princess in 2002. The bedding was the old hard Renaissance matresses at that time (ouch!) A matress pad was essential. Have the amresses and bedding been redone? I was on the TP in July. mattresses were nice and soft. bedding was awesome. probably about 300 + thread count sheets. and a nice big think white down comforter and thin fleece like blanket underneath it. Nice and clean looking. as comfy as home.

The Tahitian Princess is the only ship we have sailed on in the fleet where we did not need the mattress pad. So, that means the mattress (at least in that mini suite) must have been OK. ;)
Poulsbo Cruisers Posted January 8, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2008 We were in a mini suite on the TP in September and the bed was the most comfortable we have had on a cruise ship. It was soft and luxurious. However, mattress comfort is very subjective. What is comfortable for one may not be comfortable for another.
Toto2Kansas Posted January 8, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 8, 2008 Let me put this another way. Most Princess ships we need one and sometimes two egg crate mattress pads to take away the concrete mattress feel, on the TP we didn't need any. :)
cruzegirl Posted January 8, 2008 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2008 That's good to know as my friends and I are cruising on her in October 2008.... Does the mini suites have the shampoo in the shower too? And body soap?

Does the mini suites have the shampoo in the shower too? And body soap? Shampoo, conditioner (which I don't use as it doesn't work for me), hand soap, lotion, it's all there, no need to bring it with you.

lovelyladi Posted January 9, 2008 Author #9 Share Posted January 9, 2008 Sorry I was not more specific...but I am inquiring about bedding in regular cabins...not suites. Thanks for any input
texswamper Posted January 9, 2008 #10 Share Posted January 9, 2008 We were in a regular balcony cabin in August and the mattress was not new. It was the same cruise mattress we've always had except with the new duvet and sheets. That said, I like a hard bed so it wasn't too bad.
