Legend 09-04 * Cabin 6331

To start off the cruise was wonderful and we got so lucky.

Embarkation:

I have never got on a ship that quickly. We arrived around 12:00 and practically sailed right on thru. I have never been so lucky. My trips usually include sitting in the terminal for hours because the ship is late. We were so happy.

Food:

I am the wrong person to ask. The food is to rich for me so I had to eat grilled chicken most of the nights. On the other hand, my husband ate enough for both of us. Do not misunderstand, I still gained weight. My husband loved the food. Our waiter brought my husband plate after plate. I have no idea where he put it.

Ports:

I loved every port. In San Juan, if you like to party Senor Frogs is the place to be. I never had so much fun. In St. Thomas, we did the Godfrey Tour which is a great value. In Tortola, we went to the beautiful beach. To me it was a scary ride though the mountains but well worth it.

Ship & Entertainment

I have been on several cruises so the jokes are starting to be the same and the shows are same old. On my first ten cruises, I was always amazed. Now the shows keep me entertained.

Cabin 6331 – Extended Balcony

OK……I am not sure how to put this lightly but I would not book this cabin again. First, there is little privacy on the balcony. The aft is on an incline so you can see up and down onto other balconies. The overhang is a limited. When they cleaned the upper decks, I would get showered while sitting on the balcony. Also, we had two medical emergencies on two different days and the helicopter pad is right above the aft cabins. SO VERY LOUD. This is not the fault of Carnival. The first night with the helicopter I ran out on the balcony to see what the noise was. I was half dressed and looked up to find all the upper decks all got a little show! Ha Ha Noise is louder in the back but that did not bother me too much.

My friends had 6263, extended balcony and they did not hear a thing or were they ever showered from the upper decks.

I love aft cabins and have never had a problem. Just watch for those inclines on the back. I loved my vacation and can not wait until my next one!

Glad you had a great vacation! We will have cabin 4241- two decks beneath you on our cruise in December. Would you say that our cabin has more or less privacy than yours, given the incline? Was there any noise or vibration from below?

Thanks, Heather

I am really not sure about cabins in the 4000's. I do not want to say something that is not true. I know that I could see the people on deck 4 when I looked down. If you stay closer to the glass doors, nobody can see you. It is when you are closer to the rail that other people can see you.

Have a great time on your vacation. I wish I was you!

Hi again, I just figured out that we were sitting right in front of you. You were also afraid of the mountains, correct? My daughter was the one crying the whole way up and down.lol We also saw you on the beach. What a small world. I was reading all your posts before we left, but never thought that I would see you on the cruise. Well glad to hear you had a great time, so did we. Sad to be back home but know that all good things must come to an end..lol

Trying to figure out where to go next. Do you have any suggestions? We want a big ship that is no older then two years old. Also one that would be good for out daughter. We will try to avoid taking her up mountain tops..LOL

Yep.... it's me. I remember you saying you like to go out of NYC because you are from there. Since you loved Carnival so much you may want to stay with them. I have sailed on the Dawn out of NYC and loved it. Since you have kids, the ports are great on the Dawn. The difference is Freestyle. It really means you eat when you want. I loved it because I am not picky about my food but again my husband did not care for it. I think the next cruise is going to be the new NCL ship. If I am correct it will sail out of NYC. Not sure. Hopefully there will be a Senor Frogs and we will be happy. LOL.

Freestyle is not buffet. You go to the dining room, any one of them and get the next table available sort of like Disney does it. I heard and read many good/great things about the NCL Dawn. I would like to sail her and leave from NY that would be great but I'm not crazy about the ports of call for us, 2 women with no kids that have been to Orlando many, many times and also to the Bahamas a few times.
