Hi ladies! did my longes training run for the Mardis Gras Marathon yesterday and now I can taper. I am so relieved. I took a sneak peek at the scale this morning and found it hasn't budged, but the body fat % is down to 17.6 percent, which means I lost a couple pounds of fat since last weigh in and that's what counts. Trying to stay hydrated, and dehydrated weigh in just brings discouragement down the road.

Now the problem with the excersize taper is an eating taper must accompany it :(

Regina: You'll be back in the swing of things soon! Don't rush it. You just take your time! :)

Ann: You are impressing me! Nice job with the workouts and the body fat! My next parts of my posts are going to make you laugh your head off....here goes:

I just did 50 sit ups and I thought I would DIE!
I ate my first Burger King in 6 months today! My gosh....that made me SICK!
I had a cup of cottage cheese for dinner.
1 Pepsi all day (for a splitting headache) and 7 bottles of water! Not exactly a GREAT day for me, but I'll get back on track tomorrow! Oopss! I forgot about the Super Bowl! I gotta stay away from those dips! Yikes!

Hey I bought myself the COOLEST Tote today from Lulu Guinness! It's a little belated reward for myself for losing all the weight! I'm so excited to get it! If you're interested, I'll show you where you can see it!

Sweet dreams and I'll see you all on the scale in the morning!!

Weighing in at 160 and not happy about it. I saw an old movie last night named, "Fatso" starring Dom Deluise. After watching that movie, I knew I was a stress eater. On the positive side, I am glad I am catching myself and not falling into the old syndrome of giving up.

Today, being Super Bowl Sunday, my plan of attack is to get myself out of the house and away from all the Super Bowl dishes (hot wings, chips & dips, chili, etc.) that my husband prepares for this annual event. Probably will go shopping as I need new clothes anyway. Hmmmm...might even take in a movie. My hubby teases me and states, "I am being a traitor by abandoning Super Bowl, but I view it as getting back on tract :)

Here's a little recipe for anyone interested:
1 slice whole wheat bread smeared with just alittle margarine
place thinly sliced apple on top and sprinkle with sweet & low & cinnamon
heat in microwave at 30 sec. intervals until you reach texture you like

It's not homemade apple pie, but it's a healthy way to rid the craving for one.

Wow....this is the most I have written in awhile:rolleyes:

Have a good day everyone.

April 2004: 159
Start of REAL diet on this board! (9-22-04): 149
Last Sunday: Who knows!!!
Today: 126

Not Bad! I'm hanging in there! I'm quite sure the Burger King is not the way to go! Yesterday was NOT a good day for my diet plan!

Regina: I did your recipe! OH MY GOSH! YUM! Thank you for sharing that! I think I read somewhere that if you put the pounds on quickly, you can take them off quickly....so don't be discouraged! You're back on track already! :)

Ann: I'm sure you can make up the points! Hang in there! You will do fine!

Connie: Hope you are having a successful day!

I'll see you all tomorrow!

Good Morning everyone!! Sorry I haven't been on in awhile. Sounds like everyone is hanging in there!!
Ok, weigh in
Christmas 168
1-14-163
yesterday -162 ( I skipped a few weeks)
I must be the slowest looser ever:eek: at least it is slowly going down.
I had a super bowl party yesterday, I did real good staying away from the dips and chips (they are usually my downfall) but I don't know what got to me, I was up sick half the night, it wasnt' the food because my family ate what I ate, guess my body didn't want it??
Kelly, I had never heard of the King cake, then the same day you mentioned it someone else I know was talking about it, then Friday we went to a military ball and there was a mardi gras theme and they had it (but my friend said it was horrible and nothing like the real thing) I didn't eat it.
Well, gotta go start cleaning up my house since we had about 30 people here yesterday!! Have a great day. Connie

I am very pleased! I am down 1.6 from last week and .2 from 2 weeks ago which was my all time low. I just might make my goal of 130 by 2/25 if I am really vigilant! I'm getting tired of being vigilant and the excersize taper begins now. I ran 53 miles last week. This week drops to 29. The following drops to 24 and after that it's almost nothing. Which means, I have to watch what I put in my mouth like a hawk!!

I honestly don't think it would be possible for me to eat little enough to lose weight if I didn't excersize.

Hey Maria, Don't give up!! It is crazy how hard it is to lose sometimes, I swear I can just smell food and gain the weight!! This week I have finally started cutting the carbs, I have been fighting doing that but I am getting desperate!! It has only been 2 days but I am trying it for a few weeks, it might be what my body needs, but I really love the carbs!! I just keep telling myself it is not forever, in June on the cruise I will eat what I want. Connie
Where is everyone??? I am lonely here:( I am actually ancxious to weigh in tomorrow, I have been doing really good, hopefully I am not disappointed. Hope to hear from someone soon!! Have a great weekend. Connie
Hi Connie

Just happened to pop in and saw no action going on. Glad to here you are sticking with it. I'm back on track and looking forward to weighing in tomorrow as well. I see your cruise is coming up shortly, so you must be quite excited about it. I booked another cruise on the Navigator because I like the built-in street affect with stores on each side. Doesn't make me feel like I'm on a ship because it is so huge. Come to think about it...I think this print is a bit too huge. Will down size it with my next note. :)

Regina
ps. looks like your clock says 34 days or is that 134??? Anyway, I read it as 34 initially:confused:

Good morning to all remaining on this thread. Since today is weigh-in day, I am happy to report I am down 2 pounds. I have 3 more pounds to go to bring me back to my origonal losing status. I am confident that will drop quickly because I am in my T.O.M.

Upon reflection, I realize that going back to eating "white" foods and not going to the gym contributed to my 5 pound gain. The losing process is quite a learning experience this time around for me. In the past I would never have caught myself in time enough to prevent the "Yo Yo dieting." I would have permitted the weight to continue to creep up on me to the point of giving up.

My doctor (a gastroenterologist) has explained to me my digestive metabolism is much slower than the average person, so I must eat similar to a diabetic...small, frequent meals. For me to obtain and stay a healthy weight, my new way of eating must stay a part of my life-style and not just on a temporary basis to look good for a special occasion. Obviously he is right since I learned how quickly I gained 5 pounds. The good news is that I actually began to feel uncomfortable with that 5 pound gain and I did not accomodate it by running out to the store buying clothes to make me more comfortable.

Well, I have rambled long enough. Hope everyone has a good day.
Regina
PS. Chocolate sells will be on the rise tomorrow and for those who are unaware of it....Russell Stover has a "sugar-free" chocolate now that is absolutely heavenly. So, don't forget to mention it to your significant other.

Ok, I've been gone from here for almost two months now, but I'm going to try to get back into this. I'm still sitting at right around 132 lbs. When I got home from my grandparents in early January I was up to 137, but I've been able to get that off with no problem. Now I just need to get in the habit of drinking water and exercising again and see what happens.

Regina, you are doing a great job too!!! And I have 130 days (wish it was only 30) I was on the Voyager and loved the ship also!! I just booked my cousin on the adventure for her honeymoon!!
Sorry I did not make it on yesterday for weighin , but was 162 last week and yesterday 161, I thought I would be down more, but I'll take it!! I guess as long as it stays off , losing slow is ok.
Well, gotta get the kids ready for school and then off to the gym!!

You probably assumed I died, but it wasn't even close. I did go visit family the last weekend in January, and came back with a HORRENDOUS cold - the cough is still with me - but I am still among the living.

My weigh-in update. Right before I left for my trip, I went in to the Weight Watchers office for weigh-in, since I was going to miss my At-Work meeting. They said I had lost NINE pounds!!!! They were concerned that I would think that was normal weight loss, and that I might expect that every week, but I suspected immediately that their scale and the one we used at work were calibrated differently. The following week I went back to the same place, and I had lost again. This past Thurs, I went back to my regular meeting, and, you guessed it, my weight went up. But I am still less than I started. The leader is trying to get the scale recalibrated, since she suspects it is off, based on my experience and several others in our group.

But the main thing is that clothes are getting LOOSER! The number I really care about is my dress size, and this weekend, I put on a size 10 dress and my husband said it looked a little big!!! HOORAY!!! I have been seesawing between 12s and 14s, so I am pleased.

I found a weight loss ticker at tickerfactory dot com. I don't want to put it in my signature, so I am trying to just add it to this note. I hope one of these configurations works!

Connie,

Hope your son got a good report from the doctor. We're celebrating ds's 5th birthday this weekend, so I'm going to have some temptation around with the cake especially since it's that TOM also. Other than colds everything's going fine here. Just booked a trip to Disney World for the family in July and trying to make arrangements to stay on Disney property the night before our cruise on Sovereign.

Thanks Susan! He is aloud to walk on his foot again, but when he took his first step he started crying, I guess because he has been off of it for so long. So, for a few days he will use the crutches but start putting some weight on it!! Good luck with the temptation, I have been doing pretty good, but did it a small peice of a big choc. chip cookie cake!! (I normally would have eaten alot more, so I guess that is somthing) . I hope your plans work out for the Disney property, which one do you want to stay at? Connie
