Just got back from Holiday

Woohoo... I just got back from the Holiday... 5Day cruise to the Western Caribbean. I had a great time, but I am actually glad to be back home.

I never realized that they liked taking pictures as much as they do, geesh.. Everytime you turn around... I figured they wouldn't look good, so I would just not get them.. Well, I ended up with like 5 8x10s and 3 5x7s :)

The ship itself, I found very nice.. This is my first cruise, so the ship seemed plenty of big to me, I think it was a nice ship for a first cruise. My steward was Ramiro, very nice... My favorite person on the ship had to be our waiter in the Seven Seas Dining area.. Gede.. This guy was a blast.... He made us look forward to dinner time with him.

Me and my husband split a room with another couple and it turned out fine, of course it was small, but it worked out. Even though on my next cruise we will have our own room ;) The first night the water was very rough, people were doing well to stand, it made everyone look drunk... But it finally settled down. On our first day on sea we had to drop a life boat to check out one of those rescue pods from an Oil Rig, they said Ivan messed up several rigs and one probably just blew off, but we had to check it out to make sure noone was in it. So that was exciting for a while.

Playa Del Carmen: It was ok, but nothing special... We did the Xcaret excursion, and it was fun.. But it was VERY hot, we spent several hours in the "beach" area... That was nice, but kind of disappointing... Few of our friends went shopping and got several deals.

Cozumel: HAD A BLAST... Me and my husband did the Jeep Adventure to Paradise.. The most fun during the whole cruise.. We and several other couples took several Jeep Wranglers and got to cruise through the jungle, playing in mud holes, spinning tires, fish tailing, climbing big hills... My husband drove and he had a ball... We then got on a lil boat and they took us over to Passion Island... That place is beautiful. The water wasn't as clear due to the recent storms but it was still blue, and you could walk out for almost a mile before it got over my shoulders. Our tour guide Jose was a blast.. I played in the water until it started raining :( But that was ok, just went up to the grass hut area and ate our buffet lunch... The rain didn't last long, and it was nice, it actually cooled things down some. We went back for one last romp in the water before we had to leave.... I could have spent all day on that Island... People were very friendly.

Overall I had a great cruise, already planning the next one :) Any good suggestions on where to go???:D

Glad to hear you had such a great cruise on the Holiday!

On the 9/18 CTN on the Holiday, we also got to see a pod rescue...so I'm assuming several were separated from the oil rigs during the storms. And yes, it was interesting.

By all means, go for it! My favorite cruise was my first cruise in 1987 - my two sisters and I flew to San Juan, stayed overnight, boarded the Festivale, enjoyed all those ports SO much....They're much more exciting and interesting than MX!:)
