Favorite Thing on Elation

We took a cruise on the Elation at the end of July. I was wondering what was everyone's favorite thing to do or place to go on board the Elation. We really had a lot of fun in Duke's Piano Bar listening to Damian play the piano and sing.

Trickstsm, We loved the Elation! There was so much to do. This was our first cruise so we were really excited, but there was so much more than what we could have imagined. The entertainment was really good. We saw several shows and enjoyed them. We also watched and sang Karaoke in the Cole Porter Lounge. The disco was pretty neat. We also enjoyed all the cool decks and places to see. Make sure to do lots of sightseeing on the ship. You can find some areas that are sort of off the beaten path that are neat. If you would like some specific information or if you have other questions, please email me at rono41@cox.net and I'll be glad to help.

P.S. the food was AWESOME!!!

On any of the Fantasy class ships, the Lido deck aft. Best place on the ship for a beautiful sunrise, hot coffee, and meeting people. This is a very small area looking out to sea. My personal favorite. Also the Riviera deck forward, as far as you can go, open the last door and you will get a Bridge view of the ship, very windy. Enjoy.

Just got back from the Elation today. I really enjoyed the pool and hot tubs on the verandah deck, never very crowded. In the eves we spent a lot of time on the deck with the children's pool. Was pretty deserted. Also went and used the showers in the spa/gym area a few times. They are really good, with 5 shower heads.

We just got off the Elation two weeks ago and I miss her! Being just the average person, I absolutely LOVED going to the dining room! Being a mom and a wife, I am never the one being served, so this was a special treat. I was able to try new foods WITHOUT the fear of having paid for something I didn't like. Our service was amazing and became friends right away. And last but not least, the food was SOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!

Grayce: what can you tell me about the embarkation and debarkation process for non-U.S. citizens (I assume you are a fellow Canadian from the flag beside your name!)? I have read elsewhere that it will actually be a shorter process for us. Any other info/recommendations would be great as well!

The embarkation was great. They had a separate line for non-US citizens. We literally walked right up while the line for US residents stretched for miles. On the day we left non-US citizens had to meet in the Romeo and Juliet lounge at 7am (Earlier than US citizens). We went down and there was a line waiting at the door. It didn't take too long to get through. Probably about 30-40 minutes for everything (we were at the very end of the line). Again I think the non-US residents had an advantage because the US residents were meeting in the Cole Porter lounge and the line literaly snaked all through the lounge and down the hallway outside the lounge. I took a passport to avoid any hassles. They take the passport away from you at the begining of the cruise and give it back at the end. At ports they recommended that you have photo ID so I had my birth certificate and drivers licence as well (although no one ever asked to see it). Have a great time on your cruise!

Hey there Orange.. We were on the Elation the week after you all! We were on there from July 25-31. Wasn’t it great? We want to go back so bad. Some day we will. Funny thing though, it won’t be any time soon. We loved the Elation so much that we brought back an extra souvenir! We are expecting our 2nd child in May!!! No kidding. And no, If he’s a boy I’m not naming him “Funship Freddie!” hehe.

Congrats Ron!!!! Our first cruise we brought back our second daughter Sarah. We were chased by the hurricane Roxane..so I would call her roxi all during my pregnacy.

We will be sure to tell everyone about our trip when we get back! I have been trying to pack today.. I have to be in Nashville until Thursday night...So wanted some practice for Friday when I do the final pack :)

Thank you all for giving us something to look forward to in your stories.
