Getting from Vancouver to Seattle

Greetings all!

I've read a lot of great information here and I have "lost" the post that gives the departure time for the AmTrak Train that leaves Vancouver to come back to Seattle. The post gave the time that the train gets into Seattle.

We are disembarking on Friday September 19th in Vancouver and are interested in going to Vancouver Island that day, spending the night and then coming back on Saturday to Vancouver to take some form of transportation back to Seattle for Saturday night so we can fly home on Sunday.

Dear Dennis and Karen (who appear to be the all knowing travel guides) what are your opinions, suggestions and/or advice as to the feasibility of this plan!

:)

Many Many thanks for any input you can give me!

Sincerely,

Tracey

Here is the Amtrak link, but if you are in Victoria maybe you would consider taking the ferry from downtown Victoria to Seattle and save having to come back to Vancouver, not that we wouldn’t like to have you though. I am also going to give you the Pacific Coach Lines link that provides bus service from Vancouver to Victoria and a BC Ferries link.

Many Thanks! I'm checking all options.

I've been to Vancouver for an Alaskan Cruise several years ago and loved my time there. My husband, Mother, and In-laws have not been on the Alaskan Cruise before.

Ours is the last ship of the season for Royal Carribean. It leaves from Seattle and ends in Vancouver. We will have part of the day Friday when we disembark and most of the day Saturday before we have to get back to Seattle to fly out on Sunday. I know my Mother in Law would love the Butchart Gardens so that's one reason I'm trying to get to the Island.

Thank you so much for your input!

Tracey: You might, indeed, want to take the Clipper from Victoria straight to Seattle. It would be a lot quicker, and not a whole lot different in price, to do so.

The train leaves from YVR at 6:00 pm and arrives here at 10:30 or thereabouts. You would be back by about 3 pm if you take the Clipper.

And the ferry to Seattle leaves from the Inner Harbour in Victoria, so that makes life much simpler. I would also suggest taking a seaplane from Vancouver to Victoria, which would land in the Inner Harbour. It's a great trip and well worth the splurge because it gives you more time in Victoria.
