Disembark and Flight Time

I was wondering what flight time I should shoot for after disembarking from the boat. Sailing the Carnival Glory in 2009. The boat docks back at Port Canaveral at 7am. I haven't been on a cruise for years, so i'm not too sure how long it will take to get off and go through customs. The drive takes about 45 to 60 minutes from Port to MCO airport. Would a 2pm flight be OK or do you think I could go earlier? Thanks

I think your 2pm is fine. If you get off the ship by 10, and to the airport by 11 and allow an hour for security and the tram to the gates, you will have 2 hours to kill in the airport. I wouldn't go much earlier though, just in case there are any problems on the interstate.

We made the mistake of getting a flight around 5pm. We got off the ship and to our car and then headed over to the Space Center for a tour. We had time to turn in our rental car, go thru security and take the tram to the gates. We still had an hour to kill before our flights.

IF you are a smoker.... I would suggest NOT getting on the tram until you have to. There are no smoking areas in the terminal.
