Awwww....they did? :(

I know I didn't get one on Celebration in October, but I just chalked it up to it being the Celebration, or only a 4-nighter. But I got them on my other two cruises, and I used them for the Title page when I made my scrapbooks. I take one print, cut it down to fit on a 12X12 page, and then take a second one and cut around the outline of the ship itself. I adhere the ship to the background layer with a thick foam adhesive, causing it to be raised off the page about an eighth of an inch. I don't think my description does it justice, but it creates a very interesting 3-D look, and I was looking forward to making more cover pages for future scrapbooks.

Got some on the Legend last month, however they handed them out then 2nd to last night.

Don't be so extreme. They aren't trying to make carnival upscale and nobody said they were. They are trying to make it as family friendly as possible and eliminate as much of the 5-10% of troublemakes as they can.

Yet you still cruise on them....

I know, a violation of the terms but I do not care. You are full of it and nothing you are sayis is a fact is published anywhere.

Give us your sources of this. Us singles would love to know where it says Carnival does not want us on them anymore. Hell, if that's the case maybe me (as a single), and my family and friends who cruise with me will decide to take our business elsewhere if we are that trouble to them. I mean we do not party but play the casino, purchase some stuff in the stores on the ship, purchase some shore excursions through them, and even buy some of the pictures they take.

Puleeze.......

Uh yeah why wouldn't I cruise with them I like the more family friendly the better.

Of course it's not published do you really think every corporate decision is published? Are you that naive? Or, maybe your Canadian? It's a fact and if you don't like don't cruise them anymore nobody will miss you.

You just made my point. If it is not published where are you getting your information that they do not want single cruisers anymore.

Do you really have a family or is it just part of your vivid imigniation like the load of crap you are spouting off here?

And no, I am not Canadian, I am TEXAN and damn pround of it.

Hey, I'm 31 and I've sailed solo a few times. I would love the idea of a lone boat lol:). It's so hard to get a group of friends together to cruise; I usually get frustrated and book on my own.

I'm almost 31, and I agree. Count me in for the lone boat.

You can disagree all you want but you will be wrong. Food is better than ever. Service is better than ever including the dining room. Value is better and the crowd on board is better. The only thing that bothers me is they have quit giving out the final night print in the dining room but I will be contacting Carnival about that soon

Food and service is not better than ever. Sailed the Legend last month

and although we had a great time on our cruise, the dining room food and

service was definitely not what we have received on our previous cruises.

We may have just sailed on an off week, but my sense was that "something" is changing and I can't put my finger on just what it is. It will

not stop us from cruising because we enjoy spending time with family.

Sounds like you had an off cruise or less than par waiter. I cruised Spirit last week and hadn't had service like that on Carnival since our European cruise on the Liberty.

If there has a decline in food quality or service, I didn't notice it on our recent Ecstacy cruise. Now maybe since we haven't cruised in almost 5 years I was just so happy to be back on a cruise that I didn't notice any changes. Our room steward was great and the dining room service was better than I remembered from our last 2 cruises. Food was as good as always and as good as I expect for the price and circumstances of service.

To cruisecastle

I would just like to know where you are getting your information. I have cruised carnival twice THIS YEAR and 4 times last year. I think I can tell when service is not the same.

I have cruised enough that I have had the whole range of service from just please stay away from me to made me cry to leave. Service has not been actually poor recently, just less. You can argue or live in your own world but service IS being stretched with fewer workers.

I find food quality to be about the same so far, but I am not really the one to judge that because I follow a fairy strict diet and as long as steak is available, I am fine.

If you had used the phrase "as good as ever" rather than "better than ever" I wouldn't even have bothered replying to this, but our experience is: The food is as good as ever. Service (especially in the Dining Room) is not as good as ever (still good, not AS good). The crowd on board is as good as ever. NONE of them, IMO, is BETTER than ever.

Good points, BUT, Carnival's labor cost is the lowest thing they have going. They put it on the pax to pay the help so to speak. By cutting this low cost labor, they are cutting their throats if you ask me. If you are waited on hand and foot and in a timely manor, you don't miss some of the other things. And I think all of us that have cruised lately have noticed decreased service in the dining room. My last two cruises, the slide was open only for a very very short time. (No employee to spare there?)

As for me, I will continue to cruise my short cruises because it is cheaper than airfare to where I want to go, but if the price gets closer together, I will definately do land vacation. My next AI in puerto vallarta including air for 2 is $2650 in June. And that includes EVERYTHING for 7 nights. Airport transfers, all meals. Up to 5 excursions, all tips, all drinks (alcohol too), water sports, nightly entertainment. spa treatments, daily activiries, the lot in a deluxe suite with balcony, 2 person jacuzzi bath, daily stocked fridge and stocked bar in the room plus 24 hour room service and it is right on the beach where there is drink/snack service (included). They bring you a bottle of wine to your table every night. All included. They even provide your personal items ie shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, lotion, sewing kit, house slippers, razors, shave cream, and more I can't even remember.

I have no idea what that would cost me on a cruise, but I know it would be more than I am paying. When I want a really nice vacation, I will do AI in Mexico. When I want to go diving only I will cruise (if the price stays right).

skylock,

Do you have any information to pass on about your AI trip? I have never done one of those and think it might be interesting to compare!

Sure. I am staying at the Vallarta Palace.

there web site is www.palaceresorts.com

You can look under resorts to see the ones they have.

I have stayed in the Cancun Palace and the Cozumel Palace. I highly recommend them for a land vacation. The Cozumel one has no beach, only thing I did not like there.

If you have any questions I can help you with you can email me. skylock_2000 at yahoo.

Hubby and I spent a week at the Reef Club Cozumel (which apparently is now the Wyndham Cozumel Resort & Spa). I think it's still All-Inclusive.

http://wyndhamcozumel.com/accommodations/index.html

It was GREAT!!!

I've described it as being like a land-locked cruise vacation. Except, as someone pointed out, even alcoholic beverages are all free!

I'd do it again.

The Reef club was the first AI I ever did. I think it changed to Wyndham the next year. It was nice very nice, but a lot futher from town than I like to be in Cozumel.

We found it on our first cruise and decided we would return for a week long visit. It got us hooked on AIs for a really nice week long vacation.

To be perfectly honest though, when I do a week in Cozumel, I much perfer to stay IN town. It is such a fantastic town. We stay at Suites Bahia, right across the street from Pizza hut. $44 dollars a night for balcony room overlooking pizza hut. Room 22. Nice large room 2 queen size beds separated by a half wall, separate kitchenette, and bath. Breakfast is provided but it is usually just toast and fruit. Pizza Hut seems to be "the" place for the locals after the ships leave, which you can watch from the balcony. I have spent many hours on that balcony.
