La Mesa Momma Posted April 19, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2008 We are on the Pacific Princess in June ending in Citavecchia. I noticed that the ship does not list a transfer to Rome on their "tours" options. Does anyone know if they will have that option or not? Should we plan on booking a private ride to Rome after we debark??? Suggestions anyone? Thanks!

La Mesa Momma Posted April 20, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted April 20, 2008 Thanks for the advice about the train. My concern is that one of the people we are traveling with has some walking/standing issues- how far is the port from the train station? Isn't it a huge hassle with all the luggage? betonic Posted April 20, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2008 I used Fabrizio from allarounditaly.net. Last year we had an early flight and were concerned about getting to the airport quickly.
kofc27 Posted April 20, 2008 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2008 There was a free shutttle to the exit of the pier last April and it is a 15 mins walk along the seaside to the train station where you can go to Rome's Main Station.
Queeniecruiser Posted April 20, 2008 #6 Share Posted April 20, 2008 Does anyone know how hard it is to take the train from Rome to Civitavecchia with luggage? Also, how readily available are taxi's from the train station to the Cruise ship? Thanks
GSPLover Posted April 21, 2008 #7 Share Posted April 21, 2008 Does anyone know how hard it is to take the train from Rome to Civitavecchia with luggage? Also, how readily available are taxi's from the train station to the Cruise ship? Thanks For detailed train info, see www.ftroute.com/fco_rom_civ.htm . Taxis at the station are rare. It is an easy walk to the old fort at the port. From there, the free shuttle bus will take you to your ship.
