Rental Car

This is my first time cruising and I don't know what I should do. I will be arriving at Port Canaveral in a rental car from Thrifty. Should I drop off my DS(14) at the Port first with our luggage then take the car to the agency, or should we just return the car and all go together after dropping the vehicle off?

It's probably easier to just stick together. He can't check in, there's precious little place for him to sit and wait for you, the line at the port security check can be very long, and why go through that more than once? The shuttle from the rental agency to the port is simple and hassle free.
