lgt Posted October 9, 2004 #1 Share Posted October 9, 2004 We are on the 1/31 Golden and are staying at the Embassy Suites the night before. Is there any place on the way to the port or near the Embassy to buy decent wine (the shop at the dock has a very limited selection) and maybe a case of water?? I know the least expensive place to buy liquor is at the airport, but I don't think they carry much wine. Any help would be appreciated & if you are on this same cruise , we'll be happy to share. espmass Posted October 9, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2004 I stayed at the Embassy Suites in April. I can't recall the name of the place but if you walk out the front door and go across the street and straight up the block towards the beach, there is a little strip mall on the left with several shops and I believe there is a market there. In case you are interested, there is a fantastic restaurant where the locals eat there too with genuine Puerto Rican cuisine. They can tell you at the front desk of the hotel where this is. Linda lgt Very close to the Embassy is a Pueblo Supermarket, they open 24hours, there you can buy the water and your wine, they have a decent selection of them, also the prices are very competitive and not tourists one. Ask the front desk how to get to the Pueblo Supermarket of Ave of Los Gobernadores. Try to avoid the small malls on Ave Isla Verde, that is a tourist area, more expensive. Hope this helps
