Should we also acquire some Dollar bills for tipping ? Thanks for your help I really don't think you have to. With the Jade in Europe year round and England for the summer the crew will be happy to get some Euros or Pounds. They will get plenty of dollars from those of us on this side of the pond. Besides the way things are going those dollars they collect may be worth less by the time the crew gets off the ship :D
derekthesailor Posted May 31, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted May 31, 2008 Thank you for that. I am soooo glad I bought my cruise from the US website, and paid in Dollars :D
Impala Posted May 31, 2008 #4 Share Posted May 31, 2008 Thank you for that. I am soooo glad I bought my cruise from the US website, and paid in Dollars :D I bet you are. We bought our cruise in Sterling because it was just less than half of what it would have been in dollars. We live on dollars and play on Sterling. It's funny because it was better for you to pay in dollars and us in pounds.
Ask4Jay Posted May 31, 2008 #5 Share Posted May 31, 2008 For our trans-Atlantic crossings we take coins, either USD or EURO, depending on where the ship is headed and the crew can spend the tips without having to exchange the money.
mypleasure Posted June 1, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 1, 2008 Thank you for that. I am soooo glad I bought my cruise from the US website, and paid in Dollars :D So did I! What I paid for the cruise in $ against the price quoted in £ means the tours are free, my flights are free, I could get a balcony rather than an inside and I still have money left to play with. mog

We were quoted in $ but paid in Sterling. We have an English credit card. The rate of exchange is usually pretty good doing it that way.

Should we also acquire some Dollar bills for tipping ? Thanks for your help I understand that the tables in the casino only take $ so if you plan to play in the casino you will have to take some with you or when on board charge some to your cabin account but I should think the exchange rate would be better from your own bank. RosieCanberra Posted September 13, 2011 #10 Share Posted September 13, 2011 Enjoy the cruise in whatever money you paid, knowing that you got a bargain and were happy to spend the savings on getting upgrades, etc. The ship gets your money in the end and you get a fantastic holiday. Cheers Mic:D
