michmike Posted October 13, 2004 #2 Share Posted October 13, 2004 Jan - a book I have on the BVI (copyright 2003) says that the taxi fare from Roadtown to West End is $12 per person. Sorry to hear about your encounter w/ the tiller. Just to be on the safe side, you might augment that tetanus shot with a shot or two of Makers Mark. We leave 3 weeks from tonite, going to stay at a hotel near the Detroit airport that will let us leave our car there for the duration and provides airport shuttle service. When you compare the cost to what one of the airport parking lots get, the room is essentially free. Otherwise with an 9 am flight we would have to be up and on the road by 5:30 *ughh* Here's an excerpt from the book about kuralu "kuraku is a 50' luxury cruising catamaran that is so popular it's booked almost every day. Robin Pinfield is the owner and captain , and his charming golden retriever is often the first mate. This is a fine trip for families and children *hopefully not too many? * as there is safety netting around the boat. Choose from two trips. One goes to Green cay for snorkeling and then makes a great spinnaker sail to Jost Van Dyke. After lunch on board, you can swim or snorkel and stop at Foxy's before the return sail. The other trip goes to the Indians for snorkeling and to Benures Bay where you can swim with the big turtles. Lunch is usually several salads, quiche, a variety of cheeses and cold meats, and french bread" Sounds like a good choice. Hope the healing goes quickly!! Guest tealady Posted October 14, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 14, 2004 Michmike, Thanks for the info on the taxi and the catamaran. I will check with the captain and see if his times will jive with our port time. He only takes 14 on this trip, so it should be much better than the cattlemaran's the ship tours usually provide.
