I sailed the innaugural way back in the nineties and it was named the "Royal Majesty" never heard of it being the "Crown" Majesty. and i've sailed her like a dozen times since it first came to Boston and did the Bermuda run.

Weary

When I was on board in April, 1995, it was called Royal Majesty, so I'm with you.

Hi Radio, I'm so excited for you. I'm glad you enjoy posting for us and I'm looking forward to reading and viewing your posts all week. IMO part of the fun of cruising is posting "live." I posted live from NCL Majesty Jan. 2008.

I have especially liked your pictures of the ship. I was a companion to my disabled uncle. We were in the two room suite 903. The obstruction of the cables was very minor. I loved the floor to ceiling bay windows.

I am hoping to go to Bermuda in 2010, so I'm very interested in the details of your shore excursions. For a time we were thinking of booking this summer, but 2010 works out better for us. Will you be snorkeling in the caves that are partially filled with water?

RADIO!!!! You are my new hero!!!! I'm slugging away on my long weekend to-do list, looking at the clock and thinking, "Muster drill time!" and "Sailaway!" as I vicariously enjoy your embarkation.

Your pictures ROCK!!

I laughed when I saw everyone boarding through the Deck 2 door, since the lower bowels of any ship are so utilitarian that it certainly doesn't offer much of a "wow factor" for one's first impressions of a ship! (We'll be very familiar with that door in Bermuda, won't we? YESSSS!!!!!! :::doin' the happy dance:::))

So. . . how and where did they offer the trays of bubbly? I'm still having trouble imagining staff with trays of champagne stationed in front of the double "Crew Only" doors!! LOL!!

And is your bedding upgraded??

Oh, and did you see at what point in the process they xrayed the luggage to look for contraband? I'm thinking of just carrying on my wine so we don't have to be summoned to the Naughty Room. But I keep hearing of people NOT packing alcohol who still get summoned. . .!

Thanks for everything, Radio!!

Sue

Suebee, your post made me laugh, out of 20+ cruises, NCL -the only cruise we have ever had anything confiscated:eek: About 5 airplane bottles of Jim Beam, while our traveling companions sailed right through:D

It's funny now, but wasn't funny then when dh had to visit the naughty room, he said they were hauling out 1/2 gals and gals!!!! And here he was with his measley little five bottles, he likes to mix his own pre-dinner drink. Anyway, companions lent him some for the cruise:)

Radio, as always wonderful pictures!!! Thanks so much and looking forward to your cruise:)

Jane, you mean they didn't let you pay the "sin tax," they confiscated your dh's baby bottles (of Jim Beam)??

That's crazy.

[Edited moments later] Oh wait. . . there is no corkage fee for liquor, is there?!! LOL!!

In the memorable words of Emily Litella, ". . . .never mind. . . ."

When Majesty was under Majesty Cruise Line it was called CROWN MAJESTY and she DID come to Bermuda on weekly basis during the 1990's.

Umm...she was never called the Crown Majesty..only the Royal Majesty of Majesty Cruise Line. And that photo is of the former Crown Majesty (a totally different ship....originally the Crown Dynasty now sailing as Fred Olsen's Braemar)

Radio, enjoy your cruise! We love this little ship, and sure do miss her...

Please tell Nenette (she's a bar waitress, you'll find her on the pool deck during the day) that Peggy and Joe said hello!

And tell the IT guy to fix the bridge cam! It's still stuck on May 20th!!

glad to see you took a pic and found the coffee bar just next to the Bistro Radio... be careful of those seats against the windows.. they're tough getting out of after sitting a lil bit. lol. totally envious here.. i've always loved the Majesty for the price she is the best break one can have.. hope you have smooth sailing and lots of bells ringing in the casino.. dont forget to ask for casino at seas program.. i netted 119 room credit after the 7 day run to Bermuda..

Hello everyone ! We pulled away from port at about 430PM. . . The weather was beautful

with sunny skies, and only a few clouds. We had a warm breeze, and the water was very smooth.

We are still in the bay until about midnight when we enter the Atlantic.

The Muster drill was at 330, and it was kind of strange when the muster Station Attendant kept calling out

cabin Numbers. . . ."When I call your cabin, you better speak up or you will be back here tomorrow ! !"

The Casino opened at 6PM, and the Shops will not be open this evening due to "US Customs Regulations" (That's a new one. . .)

We had a delightful dinner at Le Bistro Restaurant on Deck 6. I highly recommend it for anyone. . the food was FABULOUS !

The Welcome Aboard show was held at 730 and 930PM, but I need to get some sleep.

Tomorrow will be a day that is full of activities. there will be a Cruise critic Meet and Greet tommorow on deck5. I will provide a sample of activities with my posting tomorrow.

Here are a few pics from our sailaway, as we sail down the lovely Chesapeake Bay. . .

I will try to stay up as we pass Norfolk, and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. . .

Thanks for tuning in.

Radio,

I am so excited about your postings. I live in the Baltimore area and was down by the pier this morning just to catch a view of the ship along side of the cruise terminal pier. I have always loved smaller ships and can't to leave out of my home port on 7-26-08. We have a sailboat and have cruised the bay for years but never on a ship.

How was the embarkment process? I saw a patrol car with lights flashing posted by the entrance. Did you have to show cruise information to be allowed on site? Can you tell us of any F2 improvements? How are the beds? We are on Promonade deck in cabin 714. Make sure you give us photos of your cabin and a critique of the facilities.

Have a great voyage. Happy Trails
